Do you believe that the president is capable of brainwashing your child?
Even though past president's have addressed student's in the classroom, why do you believe president Obama's message will harm your child?
southrngal....I couldn't agree with you more!
Linda J...have you ever heard the term, "you catch more flies with honey?" Remember the pirates from Samalia? Just because you don't flex your muscles in public, doesn't mean you don't have them.
scaerdry...."Top contributor" is "someone who is knowledgable in a certain area." I take it this doesn't include common sense?
BTW...the seals did it on direct orders from the president.
scaerdry....I would love to elaborate but I don't want to be reported for ranting. Please feel free to email me and I will explain, in length, my position.
scaerdry...If I'm not mistaken, not ONE president who adressed school children on "stay in school" issues caused a controversy. Have you even educated yourself on the topic of which the president will speak?
Sorry, I didn't address the "problem" I have with you. The truth is, I don't have one. I enjoy lively debates based in facts and not personal issues. Sorry if I offended you at all.
Meg.....why are you even here? You have way too much common sense! :)

Liberals seem to forget the controversies when past presidents did this as well. As if my issue is with the president telling kids to stay in school...
Because he circumvented elected superindentends to give school principles proposed lesson plans with written assignments directing kids on how to support him. If that's not brainwashing, what is it? Frankly, it eclipsed the usual arrogance of his actions and went straight to creepy.
Lol at all the stupid liberals who want to make this a race issue.
Peace
PS-we caught the pirates in Somalia because we have amazing Navy SEALS. SEALS are muscle. Even if we have been sent to a liberal re-education camp, let's not demean them by comparing them to honey...
Are you going to elaborate on your issue with my common sense or just level insults like a typical liberal? What do you think takes more training, becoming a Navy sharpshooter or to order one to take out a pirate after a prolonged hostage situation?
I am not going to report you for ranting. State, in very basic terms, your issue with me, or whether or not I said anything at all that isn't factual. Otherwise, I am going to assume that you are an emotional lib who can only level insults and not substantiate them with facts. I do not have the time to engage in e-mail wars over a trifle on a message board.
Alas, you are mistaken. There was controversy over the HW speech to school children. And the topic ON which the president wishes to address the children is staying in school, exc. That does not excuse sending videos showing celebs pledging their alliegence to him, nor does it excuse circumventing elected officials to distribute sketchy lesson plans directly to principles, as I have pointed out above. However, you may not recall this, but you came out fists swinging on me BEFORE I wrote that first part in an edit. So, what was eating you up at that time? And telling me that I lack common sense does offend me-although I accept your apology.

This is a silly query, a on par with "Have you stopped beating your puppy, sure or no?" But to indulge the questioner, 2 different presidents have, actually, addressed institution youngsters on a countrywide scale: Ronald Reagan on 14 November, 1988 and George H. W. Bush on a million October 1991.

My children are not in school now but they were when Reagan did it in 1988. He made so little impression that they never even told me it until I asked the when this uproar happened. They just looked it a day they did not have to work, like a field trip but do not remember what he said. I looked it up on the internet. you can see it here

If it is any comfort to the people who are worried about Obama, even this political message from the president do not turn my children into Conservatives.

So, I guess ya didn't hear about the little class assignments for after the speech ? A stay in school message is one thing, but the questions kids were supposed to answer ( they changed after the originals got a little publicity) were something different.
And let's be real, a 2 hour speech to kids ? Attention spans for a lot of these kids is about 15 minuets. Or is that state controlled now too ?

Parents are for better at brainwashing their children, they take their children to church and in a very short time the child will begin to believe that a man was swallowed by a big fish, lived inside the big fish for 3 days, then believe the big fish dislodged the man back into the Sea,at which time the man swam back to shore and promptly returned to his place of employment! you want to brainwash a child just introduce him or her to a religion!!!

I believe he is using Madden 2010 and Rock Star Beatles edition to accomplish just that. Almost all of the animated figures look a little like Michelle on a tirade against America

Because of his super-secret mind ray that ACORN has been developing under the direction of George Soros (evil laughter)
-No, seriously, no one is going to brainwash your child.

Not really, but better safe than sorry.
My daughter and I are going to the State Capitol on Tuesday. While she will be held out of school, she will learn more about our political process than any socialist, even the President of the United States, could ever teach her.

Yes! Because of their age. All children of that age are taught to be nice to grownups, so they will commit themselves to say nice things about Obama, just to get a good grade. And, since they are in a classroom, where they are taught that that is the place to "learn", the message Obama gives will be implanted in their minds forever. Once you teach a child that 2 plus 2 equals 4, it's there forever.
For a grown man to use children to boost his ego, is sick.

No. If I had a child, I would record our president and share his message with him/her. And then, as a good parent, we would discuss his message and what was derived.
Isn't it unfortunate that so many people depend on school systems and not parental guidance and responsibility now-a-days?
Surely you agree, no?
