When Transcribing Lyrics, How Do You Handle When Two People Are Each Singing Different Lyrics Simultaneously?

Like during a duet, when one of the singers is singing one set of lyrics and the other breaks in singing a different one.

How would you indicate that in written lyrics?

I alternate the text styles - I usually put plain text for one singer and italics for the other. Then I type out the main part and put the italics above it in the correct places, if that made sense. So it would be like this:

    ..........................................-oh, everybody-

    Everybody, everybody wants to love

    ..........................................-oh, everybody-

Everybody, everybody wants to be loved...

with "oh, everybody" in italics. That was the first song that came to mind.

    If that makes sense.
