While searching at the stores for new blank tapes, i have discovered that 'Hi8" tapes are more readily available than regular "8" tapes, physically and mechanically,the tapes are the same; and they are both analog recoding formats, not to be confused with "Digital 8". I know that a tape recorded on Hi8 will not play back on a regular 8 camcorder, because of the difference in analog format, but can a blank Hi8 tape be used in a regular 8 camcorder to record in the regular 8 camcorder format?
