For National Novel Writing Month, what constitutes caffeine abuse?

More than four or five cups of coffee a day is considered excessive caffeine intake

a normal cup of coffee has about 60 mg of caffeine (it can be stronger)

a normal cup of tea has about 40 mg

a 12 oz can of mt dew has 55 mg

In massive doses, caffeine is lethal. A fatal dose of caffeine has been calculated to be the same as drinking 80 to 100 cups of coffee in rapid succession - not an easy thing to do.

If you're wedded to colas, then Jolt is your best bet, though Doing the Dew is pretty good:

However coffee's best. A 5 oz cup can have 150 mg. Coffee the way I make it probably has about 250. I'll use a coffee pod AND a coffee bag for a cup. When I do a pot, no one else will drink it. They put warning labels on it. Hmmmpf.

Mt. Dew is pretty juiced up...wash down a couple of Vivarin's with it and that's borderline abuse.

Of course, a few people have died from drinking too much vodka/red bulls.
