What I find ironic is he wants them to take responsibility of their futures and at the same time he is doing everything he can to undermine those who have and entitle those who did not. Talk about mixed messages.

I think the problem people have is that some people disagree with many of Obama's policies and ideas. They may feel that this is an attempt to influence their kids without their approval. Kind of like someone telling you which church to attend. The fact that most people do not know what he is going to say is irrelevant, they are just worried about the way he has chosen to make the speech. He could have done the speech on TV and parents could have tuned in if they wanted their kids to watch.

I would have thought that "Take responsibility and work hard to be successful" would be a message that should be delivered by the child's parent(s).
