How is low income housing not considered racist?

Question

Im trying to understand and maybe people can help get this through my head. In an area of Westchester,NY(that is predominately white) the government has decided to put affordable house in a hopes to raise the minority population in that area. Only minorities are going to get the houses. I know for a fact that their are poor white people who need affordable housing, why is not open to whites. Your segregating a group because they are not a minority, isn't that racist?

UH - poor ANYBODY have to abide by income RULES in order to receive any type of aid - - I know why we were turned down when my husband and I desperately needed it - - it was because we did not know how to cheat the system, AND because we were not comfortable about having to LIE.  We actually had a social worker TELL us we needed to LIE or we would not get any aide. 

That's O.K., we just moved to a very disgusting low income neighborhood, toughed it out for a year, and moved forward to a NICE CLEAN city where there is less that 6% of the population receiving aide, and are much happier anyway.

If you ask me. low income housing is becoming less racist (if it was ever racist in the first place) I'm starting to see more Whites move into low income housing. Your assumption that only Blacks and, other non whites would move into low income housing is narrowed minded and, somewhat ignorant.
