Did Joe Wilson help or hurt the Republicans tonight by yelling "You Lie!" during Obama's address?

(I'm assuming that it was Joe Wilson, as reported by several news agencies.)

Seems like he looked amateurish to me, but I might be a little too liberal to see how it really looked.

Probably won't make much of a difference one way or the other in the grand scheme.

While I loved the look on Obama's and Pelosi's face, he was way out of line. That was the president speaking. Agree with him or not, show some respect for the office and the setting.

A handbook to issues you're able to do in Congress and not face censure: wreck the banking and economic device of america (Frank 'n' Dodd). commit legal bribery (William Jefferson, la) no longer pay taxes (Rangel) Sexually molest waitresses (Kennedy and Dodd) Kill somebody (Kennedy) Traitorously collaborate with the U.S. (Kennedy) Leak US intelligence (Leahy) Shady land dealings (Reid) Lie with regard to the the CIA (Pelosi) compliment our enemy Castro (Diane Watson) Run a prostitution ring out of your place (Frank) What you may no longer do: tell the certainty in a boisterous way. (Joe Wilson) Blade: I dont innovations :-)

Hurt especially when there is no provision in any of the health care proposals that would cover illegal aliens. It made Wilson and the Republicans in general seem misinformed, obstructionists, and the party of NO.

It all depends on who you ask. I for one would vote for Joe Wilson for President. Others believe it was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. It may be true that his out burst on the floor of congress was outside the rules of order, but that's the world we live in today. The Dem's will spin him as some neanderthal, and the Republicans will refuse to stand behind them. Nether of which diminish the fact that he was correct. Obama, and the entire Democrat party do nothing but lie. (and I have no doubt the Reps have their share of lies as well). I am so tired of the status quo when it comes to American Politics. When are the American people going to through these lying SOBs out of office so they know we will hold them contemptible for taking our freedoms away and increasing our cost of living through their taxes, fee and fines, for which we get nada in return.

If a Democrat did this (and they did when they booed George Bush) they would say that they were "speaking truth to power"

Though I agree with those that say the office of the presidency deserves respect (and it does) I believe we the American people are being served a great injustice by having this puppet for the extreme left communist party in this country and we must do everything in our power to discredited his actions.

It's been said before, and better then I can say it. Obama must fail so the country does not.

“This evening I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the President’s remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the President’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the President for this lack of civility.” Joe Wilson

Perhaps they need to breathalize people before they let them in. In his case, you can't "unring" the bell he rang, he is toast.

Joe Wilson is a typical Southern Family Values Conservative, NO CLASS! He represents a district full of redneck hicks.

    The Republicans will cheer him

    The Democrats will not

    Nothing changes

Except he might be disciplined since the Democrats control the House, so whether you agree with him or not, it was not a smart move.

The Congress has rules of decorum and he broke the rules. Believe me...he will be punished.

He's playing to his consistencies. The lowest common denominator. Like you could turn down a dying person because he's not a citizen. It's amazing they think God is on their side, because it's not what what Jesus would do.

He hurt the Republicans today, but who knows what tomorrow holds.

The Devil is in the details. I think he kinda restated that there are indeed "details" in this plan on top of all the general statements that are made by the president.

That wasn't the time, but I think it was effective.
