Offered a trade: Chris Johnson for Bernard Berrian?

My team:

QB - Aaron Rodgers

WR - Calvin Johnson

WR - Dwayne Bowe

WR - Randy Moss

RB - Marion Barber

RB - Larry Johnson

K - John Kasay

DEF - New England

my bench:

WR - Bernard Berrian

WR - Jericho Cotchery

RB - Pierre Thomas (injured, may not start, explains LJ)

RB - Beanie Wells

RB - Darren McFadden

QB - Matt Ryan

His team:

QB - Peyton Manning

WR - Roddy White

WR - Terrell Owens

WR - Donald Driver

RB - Michael Turner

RB - Thomas Jones

TE - Vernon Davis

K - Ryan Longwell

DEF - Tennessee

his bench:

TE - Owen Daniels

RB - Chris Johnson

RB - Jonathan Stewart

WR - Roy Williams

QB - Matt Schaub

DEF - Chicago

I'm thinking I should do it. Berrian is projected to go off with Favre, but I need a top RB bad and I'm pretty set at WR if everyone stays healthy.

Side note: If I do take this trade, should I make any changes to my bench? Maybe dump McFadden for a WR?

Update:

Thought so. Trade accepted. Thanks for double checking my thought process. Best answer selection to come tomorrow morning.

If you're getting Chris Johnson, then do it. Your getting a first round RB for a middle round WR.

Berrian is not going to "go off" with Favre. Favre is waaaaaay past his prime, his shoulder is hurt, and he'll throw as many INTs as TDs this year. I predict Berrian is under 900 yards and under 7 TDs.

Yes, you should absolutely accept Johnson for Berrian and hope the trade goes through the voting process okay. Even with Favre, while Berrian should have a good year, there is no comparison in value. Favre is likely to tail off at the end of the season as he has in the past few years. Johnson will be a full-time starter on your team - Berrian is nice depth, but he's on your bench most of the time.

TAKE CHRIS JOHNSON RIGHT NOW. PRESS ACCEPT AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!

Johnson is better than both your RBs right now and Berrian is on your bench. Old man favre will give him 3 or 4 bombs this year but JOhnson will be consistant. Take him right now. And I'd keep McFadden, unless a good wr is available on waivers. McFadden could have a break out year. if youre gonig to drop him, wait until week 3 or 4 to see if its the same old thing.

Looks pretty good to me, Favre isn't going to be able to go deep down field as much as his reputation may predict - i'm thinking a lot of dump offs to RBs and TEs. Besides he isn't ever gonna start for your team anyway.

Chris Johnson on the other hand would go right away at least until Thomas comes back.

As far as dumping McFadden, how about instead packaging him with Beanie Wells in exchange for another decent WR? Since you guys play 3 WRs I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the free agent market is kind of slim. Loosing McFadden in exchange for some scrub (lemme guess? someone from MIA? Kevin Curtis? Justin Gage?) isn't worth it.

    good luck.

I would do that, you can afford it. I think you could wait though. Pierre will be back week #2. If Berian has a good week or 2 his value will go up and would put you in a better position to package him with another low end RB to obtain a top 7 RB. I would not dump McFadden yet, until you see what beanie does. Where is your TE?
