I'm passionate about fitness and politics and I am very interested in the evolution of the role of men in relationships. Because I am passionate about these things I have chosen to educate myself about them. I share my knowledge freely and without prejudice unless such prejudice is thrown at my beliefs. The answer to the "How do I lose weight in my [Bodypart]?" question is always the same: "Body fat comes off your body in an order predetermined by your genetics. You cannot control from where it comes off your body, nor in what order it comes off. You either burn fat from your whole body or not at all. To burn fat, eat at a calorie deficit (1800 is a good start for most people), hit the weights and do cardio."

  • Boldin for Moss? Pitt D for NE D?

I asked a Q a day or two ago about this, but now the deal has changed. It's a straight trade, Anquan Boldin for Randy Moss. What do you think? I'm still a little hesitant to let Moss go even though he's lost a step or two. Maybe a counter offer of Boldin and Pitt D for Moss and NE D? Here's the rosters.

    My team:

    QB: Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan

RB: Chris Johnson, Pierre Thomas, Marion Barber, Darren McFadden

WR: Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, Jerricho Cotchery, Dwayne Bowe, Percy Harvin

    TE: Kellen Winslow

K: John Kasay (currently waiting for John Carney to clear waivers)

    DEF: New Orleans, New England

    His team:

    QB: Drew Brees, Ben Rothlisberger

RB: Darren Sproles, Ronnie Brown, Clinton Portis,

WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, Santonio Holmes, Steve Breaston

    TE: Heath Miller, Tony Gonzalez

    K: Nate Kaeding, Ryan Succop

    DEF: Green Bay, Pittsburgh

  • I'm being offered Boldin and Succop for Moss and Kasay?

This guy has wanted Randy Moss since week 1. This is his latest offer. Even though Boldin had a great week, I'm apprehensive about this trade.

His other wideouts are Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Breaston and Santonio Holmes. He's also got Tony Gonzalez who's on my watch list. He's really got nothing else that would benefit me. Should I counter-offer, accept or deny?

    Here's my week 3 roster:

    QB - Aaron Rodgers

    WR - Calvin Johnson

    WR - Jericho Cotchery

    WR - Randy Moss

    RB - Chris Johnson

    RB - Darren McFadden

    K - John Kasay

    DEF - New Orleans

    Bench:

    WR - Dwayne Bowe

    WR - Percy Harvin

RB - Pierre Thomas (I thought he was still on a bad wheel, so I didn't start him)

    RB - Marion Barber

    QB - Matt Ryan

    DEF - New England

  • Offered a trade: Chris Johnson for Bernard Berrian?

    My team:

    QB - Aaron Rodgers

    WR - Calvin Johnson

    WR - Dwayne Bowe

    WR - Randy Moss

    RB - Marion Barber

    RB - Larry Johnson

    K - John Kasay

    DEF - New England

    my bench:

    WR - Bernard Berrian

    WR - Jericho Cotchery

RB - Pierre Thomas (injured, may not start, explains LJ)

    RB - Beanie Wells

    RB - Darren McFadden

    QB - Matt Ryan

    His team:

    QB - Peyton Manning

    WR - Roddy White

    WR - Terrell Owens

    WR - Donald Driver

    RB - Michael Turner

    RB - Thomas Jones

    TE - Vernon Davis

    K - Ryan Longwell

    DEF - Tennessee

    his bench:

    TE - Owen Daniels

    RB - Chris Johnson

    RB - Jonathan Stewart

    WR - Roy Williams

    QB - Matt Schaub

    DEF - Chicago

I'm thinking I should do it. Berrian is projected to go off with Favre, but I need a top RB bad and I'm pretty set at WR if everyone stays healthy.

Side note: If I do take this trade, should I make any changes to my bench? Maybe dump McFadden for a WR?

  • Does this look like my best starting lineup?

Here's my current starting lineup and bench. I swapped Larry Johnson for Pierre Thomas because I heard Thomas may not play much due to injury. Opinions?

    WR - Dwayne Bowe

    WR - Randy Moss

    RB - Marion Barber

    RB - Larry Johnson

    K - John Kasay

    DEF - New England

    Bench:

    WR - Bernard Berrian

    WR - Jericho Cotchery

    RB - Pierre Thomas

    RB - Beanie Wells

    RB - Darren McFadden

    QB - Matt Ryan

  • Jonathan Stewart or Larry Johnson?

I need to claim a back off waivers to round out my team (I'm currently starting Pierre Thomas and Marion Barber, but I'm not sure they're going to deliver for me). I'm concerned because Williams will be taking a lot of the carries for Carolina, but KC looks to be going to a very pass heavy offense and LJ's best days are definitely behind him. What do you think?

(I've got Beanie Wells and Darren McFadden on the bench)

    DEF - New England

  • Need to plan a bachelor party with no gambling or booze?

I'm planning a bachelor party for a friend and he doesn't drink (and doesn't gamble, so my normal Vegas plan is out). Thankfully, he loves strip clubs, so we'll be hitting a few of those (his fiance approves and encourages, can you see why we all love this girl?). But, is there anything else you can think of to do? I've never been a part of a bachelor party with no booze or blackjack.

  • My dad wants money for Christmas, how do I make it more personal?

My dad is asking everyone for money for Christmas so he can buy the new Beach Cruiser bike he wants. I am giving him $40 because that's what he wants and I want to encourage him in his new lifestyle of getting fit.

The problem is that money is so impersonal! I feel like crap just throwing a card with cash in it at my own father! Is there any way I can doctor up this gift to make it more personal? I was thinking maybe wrap it up in a LiveStrong bracelet (for the bike part) and a small Lakers momento (he digs the Lakers). Any ideas?

  • Would you draw parallels to Bush haters in 04 and McCain supporters in 08?

I'm just thinking that the level of depression and total cynicism has got to be somewhat similar. I was praying for Bush to lose in 04 and when he didn't I was a raving lunatic for a few days. I couldn't understand how people could be so stupid.

Then I lived for the next 4 years not liking the guy, but not calling for his death.

Do you think Anti-Obama anger after this election is similar to Anti-Bush anger after the 04 election? Do you think it will die down soon? Why or why not?

  • Do you think that Palin could be encouraging a new brand of McCarthyism?

Do you think that Palin's rhetoric regarding "anti-American" views and her staunch religious beliefs could give rise to a new form of McCarthyism? Instead of hunting communists, the hunt would be on for anti-Americans and atheists.

I'm not talking about sweeping patrols of military trying to find dissenters Nazi-Germany style, but something like the loyalty tests created by Executive Order 9835 (Truman) could easily be instated for all job seekers regardless of whether or not they are federal employees. With the Department of Homeland Security already requiring paperwork for some new hires in the markeplace, it is not so far-fetched to think that a new breed of "loyalty test" could be added as a job requirement.

Could you see such things happening under a McCain/Palin white house? Why or why not?

  • Why do so many people fear an Obama presidency?

John McCain said the following two statements:

"I admire Senator Obama and his accomplishments. I will respect him and I want everyone to be respectful and let's make sure that we are because that's how politics should be conducted."

"I tell you that he [Obama] is a decent person and a person that you do not have to be scared as President of the United States... if I didn't think I wouldn't be a heck of a lot better president, I wouldn't be running, okay? And that's the point."

Given that John McCain recognizes Obama as a decent man and says that nobody need fear an Obama presidency, why are McCain supporters still spreading Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt propaganda? Also, do you think that fear is genuine or is it more of a vote-grabbing device?

  • Did McCain just say that troops should be teachers upon returning home?

With absolutely no teacher credential testing or student teaching experience?

Does no one else see a problem with that?

  • Does McCain's divorce not bother anyone?

The man adopts his wife's children and they have one of their own. She waits for him throughout his captivity while working actively in the POW/MIA movement. She works to mother the children even after a terrible car accident that landed her in a wheelchair while keeping the information from her husband to put up a strong front.

And he repays her by leaving her for a rich trophy wife.

That doesn't bother anyone? Why hasn't this been covered more in the media? It seems to me that if the media WERE really left-biased, that they'd be jackhammering this point to kill McCain's religious base support.

  • Is Obama's link to Jeremiah Wright the only ammo that Hillary/McCain supporters have?

I hear the typical labels that every liberal candidate gets (socialist, tax-fiend, etc). Those, however, are easily dismissed by party loyalties (Dems do the same thing to Rep candidates, "war-monger", "corporate puppet" etc).

Besides typical party-bashing, the connection to Rev Wright is the only downside I've heard about Barack Obama. Are Hillary/McCain supporters grasping at straws by running this Rev Wright thing into the ground?

  • Death in the family, no funeral, gift etiquette?

My great great aunt died recently. The service was a small one for only the immediate family. Since the funeral was small and no flowers could be sent, what is proper etiquette as far as a sympathy card? Should I include money? A gift card so my cousin's family can go out to dinner together? Should I include anything? I've never been in a situation where I could not attend the service to show support, so I'm kind of at a loss here.
