My dad wants money for Christmas, how do I make it more personal?

My dad is asking everyone for money for Christmas so he can buy the new Beach Cruiser bike he wants. I am giving him $40 because that's what he wants and I want to encourage him in his new lifestyle of getting fit.

The problem is that money is so impersonal! I feel like crap just throwing a card with cash in it at my own father! Is there any way I can doctor up this gift to make it more personal? I was thinking maybe wrap it up in a LiveStrong bracelet (for the bike part) and a small Lakers momento (he digs the Lakers). Any ideas?

Give him a money tree. Buy a plant and tie money to the branches. Someone did that for me when I bought a new house. It was really creative and we still have the plant. (It quit growing money though - lol.)
