What will the next global warming denier conspiracy theory be?
AGW denier conspiracy theories really crack me up. Aside from the standard ones that cliamte scientists are perpetrating the biggest fraud the world has ever seen just to make it a little easier to get grant money, oh, and to make Al Gore rich, we've seen some hilarious ones on this site.
First littlerobbergirl - a British woman - was accused of being a second ID of mine. Then Paul - whose writing style and answers are totally different than mine - was accused of being another ID of mine. Now I've been accused of being a paid blogger.

Seriously? Who the heck is going to pay somebody just to discuss the scientific evidence behind AGW on YA? Oh wait let me guess, Al Gore? LOL!
What will the next global warming denier conspiracy theory be? Let's see some creative ideas, because the deniers need a change of pace from the same old 'second ID' conspiracies.
Ottawa - maybe try showing a graph where the data diverges for more than 4 years. You know, like solar activity vs. global temperature. Whoops, I guess you probably wouldn't want to show that!

At least a few of them believe it's only possible to believe that an increased greenhouse effect can cause problematic warming if one is a freedom hating socialist, dead set on destroying the economy by any means necessary. There are so many things that are obviously wrong with that logic that it really makes me wonder what happened in their lives to make them so deeply paranoid.
After this band of conspiracy theories move out, and AGW becomes as well accepted by the public as tectonic plates and the big bang, then the next will probably be a wave of people who swear the government caused climate change on purpose. "Solar power has been cheaper than coal since 1850, but the LIBERALS wouldn't let us use it because they wanted it to get warmer to help out their socialist buddies in Canada and Russia!!!"
Source(s): To answer Mike, I would be very relieved if that meant that the warming would stop, but I would be much more worried than I am now if that meant that we would continue to warm by some uncontrollable natural means. I doubt there are any proponents out there who would feel different. I would also be quite shocked that so much careful research and evidence had been coincidentally pointing in the same wrong direction. And your data, Mike, suggests that the climate is a non-linear system and is more complex (especially on the short term) than just CO2. If June 10th happened to be cooler than June 5th, would you conclude that the rotational tilt theory of the seasons was fundamentally flawed? edit: Andy, I said that climate is NOT linear. That's what Mike's little lack of correlation shows, and I was making the point that this fact is very well established. - Anonymous5 years ago
Yes, Bob, well at least the “one post” simpletons and followers, you know the ones that say stuff like, "It's snowing in Silicon Valley! global warming is fake." I think they come in at the same percentage rate as the ones that come in and say, “It’s 60 degrees in Illinois in the middle of winter, that proves global warming is happening" you know the ones we see every day that come in once, call people names or type in capital letters to prove they are right, and then expect real answers. Yeah skeptics are loaded with the same percentage of that type of person as the alarmists are. I am sure if you and Dana did a count you would see that we have just about the same number of folks that come in and say that It's real or not real based pretty much on what a lot of their friends, science teachers, co-workers, politicians, TV shows, and Internet tell them. So once again, Yeah you will get some folks this summer that switch sides of the fence and becomes a believer or skeptic because of a localized weather event. And you will still get people asking the same simple questions like “Why wont they believe?” or “Why do they believe?” (sometimes in caps) 20 to 30 times a day with out looking through the old posts. Oh my you finally brought up the “conspiracy theory” in a question. So where do I start? You are talking to the same crowd that usually does not believe in conspiracy theories. Let’s face it the good theories like “The Luna landing was faked” and “Kennedy was shot by multiple people” are already taken by the left side of the fence. Usually they are the ones that are a little radical on the left side. The ones on the side of the fence, that don’t believe global warming is man made, are quite a different crowd. They are usually a little conservative and closer to the middle of the road. Do we believe scientists? Yes. However this whole thing is being blown out of proportion by the press, politicians, and bureaucrats. Do any of them lie to us? Only when their lips are moving! The press loves this because bad news sells, the politicians have a great political forum and the bureaucrats need their jobs. Do they lie, not necessarily; they just propagate off each other. It is pretty common. Now too many people have jumped on this bandwagon. People get all emotional about the issue which propagates it further. We have proof in society that this happens, Just look at the McCarthy and his which hunts, Americans became crazy with the anti-communist propaganda. Or how about how George Bush worked up the American public after 9/11, every one was so ready to accept the Patriot Act that they never considered the consequences. He was able to ride that wave of Patriotism from Afghanistan right into Iraq. That, my friend, is what is going on here.

You wanna hear something funny? There's a whole town in Britain that has gone green and are also now advising some middle east countries on how to go green. I bet that advice is well paid, since those britons are probably really smart and deserve to get paid accordingly.
What is really funny is that for the last 200 years when developed countries had resources it was just ok to use them, and now suddenly again the knowledge developed countries have is what will generate wealth. There might be something fishy there.

Other Denier Conspiracy theories:
- Poor countries created the hoax to bring down rich countries
- It's a socialist plot to establish a one-world government
- It's a plot to distract from real threats, such as illegal immigrants getting healthcare under a government takeover of healthcare, government-sponsored healthcare death panels, and the government's plot to create another 9/11.
As a sidenote, deniers always seem to repeat poor arguments, such as "I mean, according to the theory, man's CO2 and other minor greenhouse gas emissions are suppose to be creating year over year increases in temperature", even after being corrected numerous times.

Sense man made Nukes . The planet has been absorbing the radiation and is growing . This creates heating of the planet it self .

Same as usual, the believers are really just trying to redistribute the wealth. Same old story, just a different title.

How about the truth -- more specifically, (1) the fact that much of the research that supposedly "proves" global warming is fundamentally flawed, (2) the fact that there is a mountain of scientifically-verified evidence to disprove global warming, (3) the fact that the pro-global warming crowd denounces anyone who even suggests global warming isn't happening as an idiot, a crackpot, a liar, an enemy to the planet, etc., and (4) the fact that scientists who say global warming is happening will not even engage in an open forum debate with those who disagree.
We could also try this one on for size -- it's the same, old, tired message we've been hearing from environmental extremists for over half a century now. 25 years ago the doom-and-gloom criers from the environmentalist ranks said we had 25 years left on this planet unless we eliminated greenhouse gases. Gee, we're still here! Imagine that!
The real conspiracy is the pro-environmental crowd doesn't really care about saving the planet. It's all about power and control. They think if they can whip people up into a panic, they can then jump into the spotlight wearing their super-hero uniform of choice and say "Don't worry -- we'll save you!" They conveniently leave out the part that goes like this: "It's only going to cost you a big chunk of your freedom and countless billions of dollars, and we have no idea whether it'll actually work. Heck, for all we know, our efforts could do more harm than good."

"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
If you are educated you will know what that this quote means. If you are not being paid then you would have just laughed it off on moved on. I know I would have.
We all know that you also have multiple accounts. Most times when a question goes up for a vote you always get a fast four votes.
In this question you got three votes for a hap hazard answer.

Unless of course you think that deniers are also conspiracy minded while alarmist are not. Because if you do, then I suggest you look at this question
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiTTW...
So the best you can hope for in your point is that, if deniers are bad for being conspiracy minded, alarmist are just as bad.

Dana, considering the biggest conspiracy theory is man made climate change, I don't think it will come from the deniers. I mean, according to the theory, man's CO2 and other minor greenhouse gas emissions are suppose to be creating year over year increases in temperature and as the level of CO2 increases this rate should increase if CO2 and the other minor green house gases are the primary drivers. Since we have not seen this increase, then CO2 is just another part of the whole.
Wow, Dawei, to make AGW real the climate has to be linear? The climate has many variables and most models have to make constant many variables to make them work. The climate is any thing but linear and it is more complex then what we currently know.
