Usually you meet people at school or at work. Or at least use some people from here to get to know other people and extend your network. Aparently, if you are beautiful, you can just walk down pacific Beach in a bikini and you'll be asked on a date.
If that doesn't work, join a group: biking, hiking, rock climbing, church, or interest group, Whatever your interest is. that way, you'll be with people who share same interest and then you're on a good start.
