Why do all the fact checks show that Joe Wilson Lied?

I believe Congressman Wilson made a huge error in etiquette, protocol, and judgement when he called out like a misbehaving schoolboy in such a prestigious locale. What's worse, however, is that these fanatics seem to forget we are a nation at war, and to attempt to undermine our democratically elected leader during a time of war, no matter which party, is treasonous. The whole world is watching us, and this is the second time that Republican extremists have committed a treasonous act on national (and international) television. The first was Rep. Eric Kantor during the Iranian demonstrations. All of the President's foreign policy experts had advised a neutral stance because of our CIA's prior involvement in orchestrating a coup in Iran and installing a shah whom our CIA later helped assassinate. President Obama laid out a strategy for engaging Iran and re-establishing trust in the Middle East, the foundation for which was laid in Cairo, Egypt, with great success. When President Obama chose a very wise stand of NEUTRALITY that met with the approval of people like Henry Kissinger, Senator Dick Lugar, and others, Eric Kanter decided to butt in to upstage the President (again, now, this is during a time when our nation is at war in two different countries in the Middle East---one an illegal war that has angered many Muslims). He and two other right-wing Congressmen when on national (and international) TV to announce Republican support for the demonstrators and SPOKE OF REGIME CHANGE---deliberately overriding the President's policy like the arrogant and misinformed fool Kanter is! The Ayatollah (religious leader) quoted Kanter later that day (the second day of the demonstrations and no violence), calling him "an American statesman" and saying to his massive all-male Muslim audience "the President has written me this nice letter [stating we would not interfere] but this American statesman speaks of regime change...Which am I to believe?" Immediately everyone began to chant "Death to America!"...and the Ayatollah opted for violence to squash what he now thought might be a U.S.-Britain orchestrated "coup"---because of Kanter's loudmouth treason.

This is far more serious than one might think. I've honestly never seen so many American citizens (right-wing and/or cult-evangelicals) be this dangerous and vitriolic. I honestly believe this is tied strongly to what Goldberg (2006) and Sharlet (2008) uncovered in their respective books, and if we, the people, do not take action and defend our nation against these domestic terrorists, we stand a really good change of losing our democracy. By the way, if any of you are good at indepth investigations, check out the sale of the Diebold voting machines (the ones rigged to switch votes...remember?). The "Premier Election Systems" (changed to Premier Election Solutions" probably one step ahead of the law), which is the voting machine section of Diebold, has recently been sold to ES&S (Election Systems and Software), but interestingly, the former head of Diebold (DESI), Bob Urosevich, has served as President of ES&S and his brother Todd Urosevich is reported to be (or to have been) VP in Aftermarket Sales with ES&S. When I typed in Marvin Bush (the Bush brother in charge of security for three entities on 9/11--United Airlines, Dulles Airport, and WTC) with the ES&S company, I found a connection. If we don't want our 2010 election stolen by these religious extremists, this needs to be fully investigated and also monitored in an ongoing way. These faatics are RUTHLESS and are determined (read Goldberg) to gain "dominion" over every level of our government and over all "nonbelievers".

Man, I'm kinda tired of hearing about this already..Joe Wilson didn't know what he was talking about, obviously. So does that mean because he didn't understand Obama's statement that Obama lied?..i guess in some of the sick, twisted minds that have been so quick to share their negative minds with the Yahoo community, that's exactly what it means. But just like the President's speech to our school youth to take responsibility for their own education/futures-before the speech was even made, you had certain people screaming and hollering about "brain-washing" and other exaggerated, non-fact gripes. Obama gave the speech and even some of Obama's more vocal critics, had to retract their words and admit that it was a wonderful speech. Maybe if those same people would take the time to actually LISTEN to what the President is saying, we could finally get on the right track to dealing with some of the nation's more serious problems.

The real racist in all this is the left. They bring it up anytime they run out of ammo...and they were unarmed to start with. Name a marxist leader in the administration or Congress who hasn't yelled "race"...marxist hate everyone...the funny thing is, they use blacks until they are embarrassed or outed, then the blacks are just fodder to be tossed aside. Yet, black American continues to vote and support the slave owners, Democratic party, who, while in charge, has deliberately undereducated black youth in the inner city, kept them on entitlements and made them truly believe they deserved something free. If BLACK Americans are truly feeling slighted, it isn't conservatism, folks...It's your friendly democratic party. Take a real look America...the top 12 cities in America. 10 of them under liberal control for 30 years. ALL of them with 50-60% dropouts and 35-50-% graduation rates. ALL with murder rates as high as Baghdad. ALL with incarcerations rates much higher than the national average. And they think that the marxist are doing them a favor?? Wake the hell up, will you? You don't have to be a conservative, but, you got to be smart enough to recognize slavery, don't you?

There is a difference between lying and being wrong.

Last time I knew, there were 5 different versions of Health Care Reform going around Congress. Do all five of them exclude illegal immigrants? To be honest with you, I do not know, and Joe Wilson obviously did not either.

Besides, its a moot point. After Health Care Reform, Obama will move on to Immigration Reform. And after that, there will be no such thing as illegal aliens.

Most Republicans in South Carolina tell lies. Look at their governor. Joe Wilson is like the rest of them.

Was Joe Wilson lying? If the obamacare bill isn't going to cover illegals, why would Republicans attempt to put an amendment in the bill to prevent illegals from coverage?

Washington D.C. – The Democrats moved on Friday to allow an estimated 12 million illegal aliens into the proposed health care legislation. A Republican-backed amendment that would have prevented illegals from receiving free health care by checking citizenship status was defeated by Democrats in a mostly party-line vote of 23 to 18.

The plan known as the Heller amendment was written by Rep. Dean Heller, R-NV, and wanted to include clauses that mandated checks similar to E-Verify in order to qualify for government subsidized health insurance.

If an illegal gets free health care, is Obama lying? Well, that is what will happen because there are no "teeth" to enforce the ban in the bill. So Obama likes to play "word games," something he accused others of btw. But the fact remains that no ID will be required to identify them as illegals and they will receive free healthcare because there is no law enforcement to enforce the "ban the illegal from healthcare" in the bill.

Do you even understand how all this works? Apparently not. Joe Wilson told the truth.

Joe Wilson was 100% wrong and anybody who can read can figure that out.

The republican party leaders said he was wrong to call him out during the speech ! He was lying try reading the Constitution and you will see that we will have to cover them , CA has already had two cases go before the courts and lost and the Supreme court wouldn't hear it ! We will be paying for illegals and Obama knows it he taught Constitutional law ! He just thinks all the liberals will for get by the time that little item turns up and then it will be a whooops who knew !

Then why did Democrats vote down amendments that would prohibit coverage for illegals and abortion? (Also, why is Planned Parenthood collecting petition signatures in Manhattan -- where they think they have no reason to be sneaky -- in support of national health care?)

On July 30 of this year, a House committee voted against a Republican amendment offered by Rep. Nathan Deal that would have required health care providers to use the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) Program to prevent illegal aliens from receiving government health care services. All Republicans and five Democrats voted for it, but 29 Democrats voted against it, killing the amendment.

On the same day, the committee voted 30-29 against an amendment offered by Republican Joe Pitts explicitly stating that government health care would not cover abortions. Zealous abortion supporter Henry Waxman -- a walking, breathing argument for abortion if ever there was one -- originally voted in favor of the Pitts amendment because that allowed him, in a sleazy parliamentary trick, to bring the amendment up for reconsideration later. Which he did -- as soon as he had enough Democrats in the hearing room to safely reject it.

If any liberal sincerely believes that national health care will not cover illegals and abortion, how do they explain the Democrats frantically opposing amendments that would make this explicit?
