What is it about South Carolina that causes so much trouble for the Republicans?
First it was Mark Sanford, whose inept philandering embarrassed the GOP, and helped take away their supposed monopoly on "Family Values".
Now, Joe Wilson has embarrassed the party, and probably will continue to do so as both he and his opponent keep bringing up the "You lie" outburst for fund-raising. Which is taking attention away from any problems with Obama-Care that the Republicans should have been drawing attention to.
What gives? Is South Carolina just destined to have clumsy politicians? Or are they all under-cover Democrats?
And what gift will they give us Democrats next?
I looked at a couple of newspaper websites in other countries, but couldn't find any condemnations of the Democrats concerning Wilson's outburst. Ron R, could you find some cites where you saw that people thought the Democrats should be embarrassed? Thanks in advance!

wow, the other people who answered this question must be from places where people yell and scream in their Parliaments- we don't do that here in this country- generally speaking, anyway. And it's not cool anywhere for policy makers to lie about their whereabouts to take a little jaunt to visit a mistress. To be fair, that happens on both sides of the fence, and the other side always gets uptight about it and uses it to say how bad the 'other' group is, when it's really about individual mistakes that don't represent the entire group.

It was unfortunate what happen with Governor Sanford, but better now than in the last 6 months of the Presidential Campaign 2012! You guys shot you wad way too so, might call it "premature"...
As for Joe Wilson, pity the Republicans that jumped ship on our Patriot, check out his donations since then...
