Well... 9/11 was a tragedy. I don't think you want to open Google and be reminded of the thousands who died.

Possibly because they couldn't think of anything to change it to. Bing has it easier, than making their own clever image for their name.

Google must be a republican-run site. Looks like I'll be changing my homepage.
Bing is run by Microsoft. Microsoft is run by Bill Gates. Bill Gates is a Democrat. Bing = Democratic run. 9/11 tribute on a Democratic website = patriotic. Therefore, that means Democrats are patriotic.
