I am a conservative minarchist (though maybe I should be libertarian). What is a minarchist? A minarchism is a political philosophy where the state has minimal but legitimate functions that protect people. Why do I believe in this? Because contrary to the rabble against big businesses, I believe it is government that is the cause of our nation's problems. It is the only entity that can function as corrupt and inefficiently without consequence, and has the power to force new rules to be followed while not having to follow it itself.
So, why are we attacking the rich, again?
I see some of you vilifying the rich because "they don't pay their fair share". Yet you will also mention tax loopholes that even your elected representatives use.
So instead of attacking the rich, why not attack government for not closing the loopholes? Otherwise you're attacking the symptom, not the cause.
Or why don't you make the sacrifice and make a donation the government instead of telling others to do it for you? If you won't because you don't have to, they won't because they don't have to.
5 AnswersPolitics10 years agoLeftist, aren't you contradicting yourself with your "tax the rich" slogan?
First, a few things need to be said.
1. Businesses are not charity organizations.
2. We live in a global economy, meaning governments would also be competing for their business.
3. Businesses are not obligated to stay, meaning if their environment becomes less desirable, they have the right to leave, just as you would if America (or whatever your homeland is) turned into a wasteland.
Many of you who say this will also say something along the lines of, "The rich don't pay enough, they dodge their taxes." Wouldn't raising taxes want them to dodge taxes even more? A tax rate of 50% would mean dodging it is worth an extra 50 cents per dollar vs. a tax rate of 28% is another country would mean it's only worth 28 cents per dollar.
9 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoHow much does the top 50% pay in all (not just income) tax?
I've been looking around the internet, yet all I can find about how much they is is only for income.

So, out of curiosity, I looked up lies about WMDs in Iraq; then found these, possibly stating the "lie" did not originate from Bush.
4 AnswersPolitics1 decade agointernet browsers "crashing"?
Well, I have this issue where I'd get a message that states that the browser has crashed while I'm still using with full functionality (excluding the fact that Firefox does not let me log into yahoo. Using Chrome)
Cleared cookies, cache, temp files. Rebooted, updated Flash Player, cleaned disk. That's what I can remember off the top of my head.
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoXbox vs Playstation. Which is sturdier?
Ok, I've seen an original Xbox take a 12 gauge shotgun and surviving on Youtube (not against an AK though). And an Xbox 360, in a car accident, got thrown out of the car seat then got ran over by a vehicle. So this got me curious. Can are Playstations handle that much abuse?
3 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoWhy would Keynesian Economics work?
Ok, not much of a question here, since progressives are mostly going to say that they're "better people" and they're "Doing Jesus's work", though Jesus wanted "selflessness, sacrifice, and hard work" not forcing people who do work to fulfill their own ideology.
To the point: I notice many progressives tend to follow the Robin Hood ideology, though we're not in a tyranny where a person's bottom dollar is taxed away, and seem to think businesses have limitless supply of money and greedily horde it away.
Through Keynesian Economics, they think taxing businesses and giving it to people will allow them to feed their demand. However, they don't seem to think ahead and find that such thinking has no ground. The backlash, from businesses in actuality, not having limitless money, would be budget cuts, going from layoffs, less production, and so on. As a result, to make up for lost profits, they ship jobs overseas, which would keep production up, and prices and unemployment down.
A factor which lead to a recession is under-consumption which can be from overproduction, there being too many of what's produced and no one buying, lack of things that are in demand, or high prices which turns buyers away, the latter two being the result of Keynesian Economics.
Overall, Keynesian Economics can only prolong an economic downturn, just like it did with FDR. Only thing it really does is give people false hope.
Did I miss anything?
6 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhy is raising taxes a good thing?
Ok, so from what I can find, raising taxes on the rich is to put money into people's pockets to stimulate the economy. A flawed theory. But there has to be more to it, otherwise, why are people supporting it? So anyone care to pitch in some info?

1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoWhat do you believe is the requirement for your political ideology?
Conservatism and Liberalism.
For example. I'm Conservative because I believe I can understand how people behave and understand natural order of economics work (This doesn't apply to everyone). Like how Capitalism has a natural driving force to where people have to work to get out of poverty (I've watched some documentaries about China and it also appears they seem to get the desire to work and study to improve their way of life).

Is it the poor that gives people jobs? Even studies show that countries with lower taxes for the wealthy do much better than those who have higher taxes.
