Are people confusing feudalism for capitalism?

Is it just me or do the left on this site tend to confuse capitalism for feudalism?

Update:

An unbalanced parliament, mind you. Remember France's 3 estates? The First and Second Estates, made up of clergy and land owners, would over rule the Third Estate, made up the the common man. We have a congress voted in.

Update 2:

lordfrig, in a capitalism, the economy is not two separate pockets. Money cycles to and from the rich and the poor. If you take from one part of a cycle, you effectively hit the whole system.

Update 3:

Thomas, you need to brush up on the subject or get a teacher. Feudalism is when land is own by the king and serviced by nobles. Capitalism is private property, not granted by kings, and must be maintained.

Update 4:

"In unregulated capitalism, corporations and rich people would be entirely free to scam and abuse workers, consumers, and the environment, easily making themselves even more rich"

This is where you're wrong. You would be correct if it was a monopoly, but that's not the case here.

Political trends of the last few decades have blurred the line between the two.

A feudalist system is unregulated capitalism without elected government. In unregulated capitalism, corporations and rich people would be entirely free to scam and abuse workers, consumers, and the environment, easily making themselves even more rich. Without government help in education and job training, poor people would have a lot harder time climbing up the ladder. There is no profit in helping the poor. Without elected government, the rich make the rules, and that pretty much is fuedalism. The whole serfs working on landlord land would come easy from that.

NO they are intentionally trying to confuse all of us by labeling one as "good", collectivism, and the other, capitalism, as "bad". Vilifying the effort of others, and it's rewards, justifies their living off others sweat as a "right".
