This is why Chevy is now owned by the Federal Government. The only way to drain this rear-end is to remove the back cover. The only way to fill this rear-end is to go forward of the back cover on the passenger side and remove a 1/2 inch pipe plug with 3/8 square drive, just like they did in the 1920s. GM kept pushing 1920 technology into the 2000's, it worked thru the 60's. GM? Garbage Mentality. luv ser Please now let some entrepenaur start an American Car Company, without Government, and most certainly without Union. luv ser Most all foreign cars have a drain & fill plug.

You should have a site screw\bolt on the rear end(also the fill hole). It may be up on the front near the top of the case. Take the bolt out and the fluid should be to the bottom of the bolt hole. Climb way under, it's there. It's probably an allen plug.

should be a drain plug with a square hole to remove on the back near the pinion.it should be the same size as a 3/8" ratchet drive just back it out and fill the diff untill fluid runs out the hole.wait for the leaking to slow down then put the plug back in.

as long by way of fact the 14 bolt has a similar gears by way of fact the 40 4 and you run a similar height tire you will not have any issues. in case you have a similar kit ratio basically swap the spindles, rotors, brakes and so on. over to eight lug. this variety your rims will adventure. in trouble-free terms improve from the 40 4 is a a million ton Dana 60. A 14 bolt is basically as reliable as a Dana 60 or 70. the 14 bolt would be high quality. as a techniques by way of fact the 40 4 it is going to likely be high quality as long as you do not abuse it. I run a Dana 60 in my eighty one blazer with a 14 bolt in decrease back, 44x 14.5 tires. Have in no way broke them.

there should be a plug on the side that takes a 3/8 ratchet. take it out to check it and that,s where you fill it too.
