This is a physics question, not biology. Regardless, the travel time would be (to an observer on earth) would depend on how close to the speed of light he was traveling. If he was going 99.9999999% of the speed of light (AKA c), the travel time would be a little over 600 years. However, the travel time for the traveler would be much shorter. The closer his speed was to c, the shorter his trip would seem to him.

A light year, despite its name, is a measure of distance rather than time. A light year is how far light travels in one year.

And in terms of your example, it is impossible to travel 300 light years in one month, as you would be traveling at 300 times the speed of light, which is impossible as the speed of light requires you to be infinitely small, and therefore is the upper limit on how fast anything in the universe can travel.
