What happened Ohio fans?

There was a lot of talk days before the game. I went through a number of pages and didn't find any talk. I didn't see a lot of Trojan talk either. I know USC didn't walk all over you, but how did the team collapse? USC traveled across the country with a freshman QB. What happened? Ohio played a tough game but could not seal the deal. What is the excuse, sour grapes or what ever.. I did not care who won. I am an SEC homer. 106000 packed stadium??? How could you lose???

Update:

Tsunami...I thought USC was going to walk all over them. The game was too close for all the talk I read here from USC fans.

Well, they had one good drive in the 2nd half, other then that, our boys played fairly well. Terell Prior needs to score more points, and if we would have gone for it on 4th and 2 (and succeeded) then we would have scored a touchdown, and probably would have won the game.

it's a really tough loss for us, because we were very, very close, however, the whole usc team, especially their offensive line (not just Matt Barkley) got it together and beat us fair and square.

    1. Pryor is a scrambler, not a passer. If you want to lead a team to victory with under two minutes, then you need a QB to get the ball downfield and keep moving the chains.

    2. Bad coaching. Tressell has no balls whatsoever. It was the 1st quarter it was 4th and goal at the 2 yard line and he kicks a field goal. USC's offense wasn't doing a thing early so even if they don't convert, you have the Trojans backed up against their endzone.

    3. No heart in the 4th quarter. They looked like they didn't even care to be there. Matt Barkely kept making pass after pass and the reciever picked up a lot of yards after the catch. The Bucks D just made some half-hearted tackles that cost them the game.

Ohio is always like that. they play great but dont finish. If you see majority of the games they win its because they really lead by 14 or more at the half. But the game wasnt much to talk about...wasnt a blow out like a lot of people thought it was going to be. And then you also have think, i believe Ohio students arent all back in school yet. I think a total of 30,000 or less student tickets were sold. But i mean i wasnt a great to gloat about after words by either team. Ohio played a good game though

Coaching. Instead of stepping on their throat and closing the game out in fine competitive fashion, Tressel played the "nice to meet you, how are things?" card. The drive resulted in a punt, leaving USC more than 2 minutes in the 4th quarter.

The defense played above-bar for 3 1/2 quarters of the game.

I think coaching broke their backs.

The defense did everything asked of them for the majority of the game, but instead of playing like 99% of the other teams in NCAA, Tressel was content to sit on their small lead. Against Pete Carrol.

    The result?

A home loss in front of a record crowd.

Ohio State is lacking when it comes to heart! They played the 2nd and 3rd Quarters like they had a 35 point lead! All USC needs was 1 good drive to put the game away!Did anybody really think that wasn't going to happen.

Coaching fail was a major reason, but not the only reason, for the Ohio State loss. Read this for perhaps the best postgame analysis I've ever seen: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_satu...

This was their chance to beat USC...They choked so now they have to wait at least 3 years for another chance like this one....

    Two words:

    Pryor sucks!

Source(s): I'm glad Pryor sucks after his pro-Vick comments. Pryor is a 'thug in waiting'.
