Maureen Dowd's racist(?) NY Times article?

Here's a direct link to the article:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/opinion/13dowd.h...

Is this woman serious? Obviously, when Joe Wilson blurted out "you lie" in retort to Barack Obama's statement that the health reform bill will not cover illegal immigrants, Ms. Dowd believes that it was racist. It wasn't about the debate (which everyone else seems to think it was about), no, Ms. Dowd says it was about racism, and that Wilson can't deal with a black guy as President. Now, I don't think it was about race, heck I don't care what colour or gender you are, it's the policies that really irk me. But I digress, and would like to know: Is this really viable? I mean can this really be taken as an insult to race? Your thoughts please :-)

Update:

Information Police: Wow. I didn't think that many people believed he was illegitimate because he was black, it was over the question of his birth certificate which has since been resolved (except for a few radicals). You need to pull you head out from whatever dark and dreary place it is and become a little bit more educated. Please?

Maureen Dowd is a liberal with the shared genetic defect that makes them just make shiite up when the truth does not support their case.

Maureen Dowd raises being uninformed to an art form.

Liberals have run out of ways to support Comrade 0bama,so they resort to name calling(Racist)

To some extent this has been going on since 0bama began running for President last year, any criticism of him is considered Racist.Senator Murtha even called his own Constituents racists during the campaign,it was quite disgusting.

I think that a lot of anger towards Obama starts with his race and the believe that somehow his presidency is illegitimate. Only that can explain the level of anger and hatred directed towards everything he does.

You just have to read a few questions and answers here to see for yourself.

as for the article, Dowd bases her assessment of Wilson on more than his comment in the joint session last week. You can read her other comments for yourself in the article.

Immigration issues are strongly rooted in racism.

I'd love to hear from 10 teabaggers complain about Canadian and Japanese folks who are living in the US illegally.

I'd love to hear the same rage from 10 teabaggers complain about white Europeans marrying US citizens for money to bypass the US immigration system.

It seems the only people who are the issue is those people who are not white accessing health care.

What about those white Canadians who can cross the border and get free services in US emergency rooms?

Most liberals are racists, they just try to mask it by calling other people names and making up fictional "code words" and other dumb stuff.

Yeah, Wilson is a racist. He is a white Son of the Confederacy who would have never been disrespectful like that to a white president. But to a "***** impostor", why not?

There was no debate. It was an address by the Pres of the US to a joint session of Congress. It doesn't look good.
