Does anyone have any advice/experience with clavicle piercings?
I'm in the Memphis/Nashville area and I have a parlor that I've researched, but if you know another good one I'm open for suggestions.
About how much will I pay for the pair? I know it varies from parlor to parlor but they won't vary too much.
Should I make an appointment? Or walk-in?
Aftercare: how long do they take to heal?
I know about rejection etc. and I REALLY don't want dermals.
links to BMZ articles do me no good. If I wanted those, I'd look there.
Thanks in advance :D
Surface Clavicles btw
I don't have the nads for sub-clavicles yet
:O
I'm just going to say that you should be slapped for suggesting straight barbells for a surface job.
I'm a n00b and I know that's a no-no.

You're always best to make an appointment and tell them what you want, to make sure they have the correct jewellery etc and it's all ready for you coming in. If you walk in and they have to order the jewellery for you or it's not already been sterilised or whatever, you'll waste all that anticipation and just be told to go away again til they're ready.
Surface piercings can take anything from a few months, to never healing at all.
Traditional surface piercings, especially on a flat, tight area like clavicle piercings, are pretty pointless - they'll stay for a couple of months, if you're very lucky, and then reject, leaving you with nothing but a few ugly scars for your trouble.
If you absolutely must, at least make sure they're done with the correct jewellery (ie neither a curved barbell or a straight tongue bar like suggested above - definitely not a straight bar, that's just stupid and you won't make it past a few weeks before the piercing's gone) Traditional surface piercings should be done with a staple-shaped surface bar. No other jewellery has even a chance of lasting in a surface piercing.
I don't know why you don't want dermals as you haven't explained, but I would urge you to reconsider. The procedure to insert them is easier. The healing is MUCH easier, and they're far more likely to be with you for the long term. They look nicer, you can get all sorts of different tops to change them to - if you want them in pairs so they look like a traditional surface piercing, just tell you piercer - they can line them up and use ones with a ball end so the only difference between them and a surface barbell to look at is that your dermals won't be all red, irritated and nasty looking, and they'll still be there six months down the line.
Basically the only difference with surface piercing and dermals is the price - dermals tend to be a bit more. But if you think about the fact that they're permanent and won't leave scarring anywhere near as bad even if they do reject or have to be removed for any reason, it's a false economy to go for the cheaper option...

i would walk in unless its a really populair parlor. they take about 6 to 8 weeks to heal just like any other basic surface piercing. and i wouldnt get dermals ether when i got my hips surfaced they wanted to put dermals in and im like no no no lol either go for a bent surface bar or a straight tounge ring is what they most of the time because their easier to find and cheaper. and the pricing would prolly range from 60 and the least to 80. our paying for the piercer to pierce you and for the jewlery that goes with it so its not that bad. hope you get them. im getting them his weekened. good luck :)
