Although I am not a 'worrier,' I DO find myself in an occasional anxious or stressful situation. First, I do whatever I can to remedy or fix the situation. If there is nothing I can do, then I pray and tell God, "I've done all I can, now You take over!"
That old Serenity Prayer is the best thing to remember. If you believe in God, it is a prayer; if not, it is a good mindset...
"...Serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
...Courage to change the things I can; and
...Wisdom to know the difference!"
Peace!

When anxiety reaches a point where it's affecting one's life substantially, a combination of talk therapy and medication is the answer. But because talk therapy isn't affordable to everyone, medication has to do the job. People who need medication shouldn't feel they owe anyone an explanation. Medication very often corrects chemical imbalances in the brain and is a remedy just like insulin is to the diabetic. Those who condemn medication really don't understand much about the condition that medication corrects.

In the moment I stop, breathe easy and write down what my potential concerns are if I have time or at least think twice about the situation from everyone's view.
If I find its still with me...
I go for a run through the woods, not on a trail but through thick woods and SMASH everything in my path without stopping.
Usually I come away ripped up and a little bloody, but it reminds me what my limits are and how much I could hurt someone if I ever let myself lose control.
I want to be nice.

Don't turn it into a problem and realize that it is part of something universal and it is trying to shape you into a more evolved being. It is just part of your higher self speaking to you..... Realize it is a good thing to have anxiety if you turn it into a good think then your anxiety wont be a problem because it will no longer be put into that category by you. You can make anything what you want. Someones happiness can be your sadness or the other way around. Nothing is set in stone we shape our own individual worlds therefore making it into a living hell or our blissful heaven. Think about if you DECIDED to lived every moment in bliss then you will have a blissful life if you want and to focus and turn it into the opposite then that is what your life will be like.

I have PTSD from fighting in Iraq and have terrible anxiety. I take bupropion and have recieved training on how to stop my anxiety from turning into full blown survival fighting for my life aggression. (doesn't always work) That kind of behavior is OK when you are in combat but not OK when you are in the civilized world. You should look into classes that will teach you how to stop the negitive talking to yourself and replace it with some objective thought.
