A sneeze here and there is normal. We sneeze when we are not sick, rats are the same, she probably just had a tickle in her nose. If you hear sneezing more than 2-3 times a day, it's time to visit the vet.
As far as Kath biting and Kim not biting, each rat has her own personality. Kath just sounds like she is a little cranky and does not want to be messed with.Try washing your hands before you handle Kath, she may just be smelling food on your hands!

Hi!
Kath sounds like she's suffering from aggression problems.
In order to conquer this, you can have her neutered. This will kill all aggression problems within her and make her much friendlier and much more gentle!
There's nothing you can do about the noise I'm afraid... my two stay in my room through the day and I move them into the spare room at night.. otherwise I'd never get sleep! You can change their sleeping patterns, but that involves A LOT of throughout the day playtime and 'free range' time where they can run around freely before bedtime.
As for sneezing, when rats get excited or move homes, the excitement acts as a histamine (like our equivalent of hayfever or pet allergies) and makes them sneeze. The occasional, gentle sneeze is nothing to worry about :)
But if the sneezes get more frequent and are accompanied by chest wheezing, laboured breathing of the secretion of porphryin around the nose or eyes (which is a red, blood type substance which resembles blood), you must take her to the vets as it may be a respiratory problem... eg, a chest infection. Nothing to worry about, though... the vet will prescribe a medication called Baytril which clears it up usually in about 3 days (but you MUST finish the course to avoid reoccurance).
Good luck!

Kathy just needs more socialization. MEAT DOES NOT MAKE ANIMALS AGGRESIVE!!!!!!! Sometimes people sneeze too! If you hear lots of sneezing or odd sounds from their chest, a vet visit is in order.

Your rat probably has a respiratory infection. My Pinky died of it. The vet prescribed her an antibiotic for a few months and she lived about 3 years.. 6 months longer with the medicine. Neither one of my girls ever bit anyone so I'm not sure why it would be biting anyone. Are you feeding them enough? Also, don't feed meat. It makes them aggressive. You could also try changing the litter. Cedar or pine litter aggrevates their respiratory tracts. Try a paper based litter. They have really cute cardboard colored litter that really helped. And it comes in pink! Much softer too.
