Answering Computer Help Questions?

How many of us here are trying to help people with their problems involving overclocking disasters or network stuffups, Simple speedup techniques or even how to change desktop background .jpg?, Which browser is better or how much memory do I need to run this app?. Should I switch from Vista to Linux or Snow Leopard, If I plug in this (x) into (y) will it work or do I need something else???.

Anyway, WHY CAN'T PEOPLE GIVE SIMPLE INFO LIKE OS,CPU MEM, GFC(gfx card) just anything to go by AAAARGH!!!!

Yes I can tell you how to reboot any pc however without a tiny bit of info it may require a steel capped boot and a hammer ;)

Your thoughts?

Update:

My apologies if I seemed arrogant or rude. As blamay22000 and Ben H pointed out not every one is as clued up as we seem or believe to be.I just have to remember I used to be a noob myself and relearn patience (thanks!)

Update 2:

I think some folks are new and deserve help but there IS a definite lack of common sense by some peep! "Where do I find a driver for my logitech webcam?" For instance....they knew about drivers but didnt have the common sense to check out the mfgs website. Others asking questions that could be easily found if they knew how to use their search box. They spend a fortune on a PC, know how to use p2p, facebook, mypace yet dont have a clue how to do a search! Then their are like you say, the people who dont have brains enough to post make and model or details in their quests yet when their car breaks down and they have to pay out the wazoo for it, they dont forget to give details to the mechanic! As far as I'm concerned, if the FCC would have stepped in long ago and made it mandatory to have a basic PC class under your belt BEFORE you could own one, things would have been alot easier.

Look at the whole picture, for the same reason that you can be explicit, those that need help the most aren't able to be.

    Why?

Well, because, as I'm sure you've seen, they don't even know what a CPU, RAM, PSU, Graphics card, VRAM and many others, is.

They're like a carpenter apprentice that asks for a hammer, but meant a nail.

What bugs me is the fact that many ask questions that have been answered many, many times, it goes to show ya, they don't read.

I once answered a question stipulating that fact. I was reported as being rude and the answer was deleted.

    Go figger.

    ;-)

PS: I followed up, but as usual, Yahoo! Answers did not respond and I am not surprised either.
