Hissing sound coming from front driver wheel?
i have a 1986 nissan 300zx. it makes this hissing noise while driving when i turn the wheel to the right, even on slight curves. It does not do it no matter how sharply the wheel is turned to the left. It sounds like air escaping from the tire, but im not sure. its not a constant noise, it does it in little bursts while turning the wheel, and only when the car is moving. the wierd part was when i was driving uphill toawrd a stop sign and i braked kind of hard and it hissed the whole time i was braking. after that it didnt do it the rest of the way home. im lost.

Maybe there is a snake living in your wheel and it does not like you making right turns.
I would start by checking the caliper, it might be sticking. Then I would check the wheel bearings.

It is possible that the rotor is rubbing the backing plate, a plate that keeps road debris from lodging in the moving parts. Jack that side up and use a flashlight to look and be sure there's a gap between the backing plate and the rotor. It will not harm to bend the backing plate away from the rotor if it is too close.

you probable can no longer restoration a sticking caliper with a touch lube. The sticking is generally on the interior by way of corrosion interior the calipers piston led to with the help of moisture interior the brake fluid (further cuased with the help of no longer changing the brake fluid - a upkeep merchandise that maximum human beings do no longer comprehend approximately). question: Does it ensue once you circulate over bumps with the brake pressed easy to med? if so, i could say your caliper isn't sticking, yet is loose or is lacking hardware - like a clip that holds the brake pad in place.

if it is not a constant noise it is NOT your brakes or wheel bearing it is something simple one of the plastic splash guards over the wheel is rubbing off your wheel when you turn it
