In English Class I have to write an essay in MLA form. What exactly does that mean?

There are various ways to notate ciations and bibliographies in formal papers. MLA is one of the most common citation methods. (APA is another.) It's important to learn how to cite papers properly in the gtiven format in preparation for higher education. If you ever submit a paper to a peer reviewed journal, it must completed in a format requested by the journal. An interesting note: most humanities disciplines use MLA. Most scientific disciplines use APA.

Since you know it will be MLA formatted, don't bother looking at other ciation methods. Go directly to an MLA site. You cannot combine ciation methods.The OWL site by Purdue mentioned by another poster is a great source.
