The MacBook Pro uses the Mini Display Port. So you want the Mini Display Port to DVI adapter (and then DVI to HDMI cable) or the Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter (and then HDMI cable). That will only do the video for you though. Even though HDMI can do video/audio over the same cable, the Mini Display Port is video only.

For the audio, make sure your TV has an HDMI port which accepts external audio. Typically it would be RCA stereo ports (red/white). So you would then use a Stereo Mini to RCA cable (stereo mini end into your MBP headphone jack). Here's an example of this cable for your reference, http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-3-5RCA-12-3-5mm-Stere...

If your TV doesn't have an HDMI port which accepts external audio, then you might have to put together a different solution. In that case I'd likely look into a Mini Display Port to DVI adaptor and a DVI to VGA adapter. Then use the VGA cable to go to your HDTV (most have this and I think all that do will also accept external audio for the VGA). Then you can use either the Stereo Mini to RCA cable (if the VGA has RCA inputs) or just a Stereo Mini cable if the VGA input just has a headphone like jack (also called auxiliary cable, think iPod to car stereo).
