honda magna v-30 500, 1984..any experts?

I have a 1984 honda magna v-30, and replaced the lower clutch seal inside the motor. I have tried starting this thing that ran fine before, but no go. every so often there was a puff of smoke out of the carbs, but no fire. I have spark, And fuel, and the breather is on. The motor is dual overhead cam, the book sais there is no way to screw up the timing, but what if the lobes on the camshaft werent't exactly the way they were when it was taken apart. I have had the motor out three times, and before I go nuts.., I need real help. someone who knows exactly what is going wrong. not just a long shot. I would appreciate the advice , cuz this is my only way to get around, and My freedom loss is significant. PLEASE HELP< from one bike rider to another.

I have Honda Magna V30 that is my only way to get around. I looked all thought my Clymers manual but didn't find anything to help. the best other method for folks that deal exclusively with Magnas is MOOT, Magna Owners Of Texas. I included their link below. They have always been able to tell me where I went wrong, and how to fix it. I hope this helps.

I sent an E-mail request to the guy that runs the website asking for some help. Hope you get the information you need from him or one of the other members.
