Is the Manga different from the anime of Soul Eater? I love the show, but I had heard that the manga is different.
when did the manga begin to change from the show? If you could give me an approximate chapter or episode or anything that would be helpful. Thanks.

Yes it's different, the anime starts to deviate from the actual manga plotline because they were only going to make it 50 something episode long. It starts to change around the end of the Brew Tempest Arc, like Joe came to Shibusen for another reason than what he went for in the anime. So begin from this page of Chapter 37.

Yes, the manga is ongoing and the anime is finished.
I know there are more fillers in the anime, but sadly I can't find episode 16 anywhere (I've checked so many places and none had it) so I can't say exactly.
I know Excalibur gets more screen time though
