Black people that date white people?

Interracial dating is becoming more prevalent, something that I have no problem with. However, I've noticed that when many black people do it, their reasoning seems to be a bit off. By off I mean that many times they can't describe their relationship with someone of a different race without throwing their own under the bus.

Some examples are a black man saying he dates a white women (or white women in general) because black women are loud and argumentative or a black woman saying she dates interracial because black men are thugs or dogs.

When I hear a person say those things I can't help but wonder if their interracial relationship is for the right reasons, since they describe it as taking place because black people "drove them to do it".

If I were the spouse of one of these people, and they openly said they didn't date their own race because they were too (fill in random stereotype), what would that make me if they actually met a person from their race that didn't fit their generalizations? If they wanted a person of their own race to begin with but were driven away because they were too (fill in stereotype), wouldn't that automatically make me second place to someone of their own race that didn't fit the stereotype?

Again, I have no problem with interracial relationships between black people and other races, but shouldn't the reason a black person is with a non black person be simply because they fell in love with them, not out of love with their race?

Update:

Damn Freespeech, I didn't know my blood had powers of defilement. I thought it was Type O.

Update 2:

haha Demonica. That's passion you're hearing. It's an integral part of black love (lol)

Update 3:

Faith- I'm going to make an effort to start asking good serious questions. Stick around.

You’re absolutely right, in a perfect world that would be how people choose their mates, but it’s just not the case. Even with all their excuses, I still don’t think that’s why they choose to date outside their race. I think it’s a copout and they know these generalizations are just that and have no real truth to them, but they continue to use it cause its easier than saying I don’t like myself.

That being said, I have dated outside my race before and it wasn’t cause I was sick of black men or some self-hate issue. I did it because I live in a predominately white area and black men period are hard to come by. If I had it my way I would only date black men and I’ve even expressed that to many white guys I’ve turned down.

Their reasons as I see it is wanting some one who they feel would cause them less grief, and with some of these relationships, it is a racial profiling gesture. Whether it's the person dissing their own race or some one dissing another race, the behaviors or statues they indicate of their non-compatible mates are based on stereotypes because anyone could fit those reputations. And they aren't afraid to say all this, but aren't prepared to back up their unawareness to how disrespectful that is to their mate. Either that or they like some thing different which in most cases is only their skin color and DNA, since many share same beliefs, culture etc.

Edit: lol I can't even fix myself to come to this section today. This was the only question I wanted to answer. Everything else seems so 5 months ago and the same dry, played out trolling.

I'll stick around for you lol :)

I know some black men who say "the devil made me do it" LOL. But where I'm from not too many people bat an eye at this or even care why they are dating a white woman. There is just so much of it and so many children born from the relationships that it's a moot point these days. I can't wait for the rest of the country to catch up. I personally only dated white guys. Nothing against blacks, just...I don't know...I guess I have an innate attraction to people of my culture and I like to do me. But I hope that those who choose to date and marry interracially do so and erace racism once and for all.

And no I am not off my game one bit. Freespeech YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED for mean and racial comments!

When people complain about their own race...some of it's crap but some of it has to do with REAL concerns about culture. For example, there are many black people who don't like hip-hop culture at all. But there are some who love it and can totally identify with it.

This isn't just an interracial thing. Many Americans embrace world cultures more than they do US culture. And they complain about the things they don't like.

You don't have to put down your own race to date interracially. But sometimes, people explore new cultures because of concerns they have with their own culture.

    I agree with you 100%.

There are some people who date interracially for the right reasons. But there are also some who do it for the wrong reasons as I have said many times.

I'm half black, i'd rather date men of other races. Just because, living in America, it's very hard to find black men who are not on FBI's most wanted list, have 6 baby- mamas, etc. etc. the problems could go on forever. Not bashing my own race though, its just very true. That's just America. Not saying it's the same way in other countries where blacks reside like Europe, they have a completely different mindset. Unfourtunately it's just American Blacks. (::NOT SAYING ALL::)

Source(s): Met a lot of European black guys. dated a black guy from London, very sweet.

I agree with every word you said. Sometimes, it's about having a trophy, but it shouldn't.

If people are going to be dating interracially, they better come up with a better reason than some reliance on stupid stereotypes.

ive seen other questions youve answered b 4 and i know your not racist like some of these other dopes believe. i think inter reacial dating because someone has hate for there own race IS a big problem facing america today. i asked a question about why blk men leave beautiful blk women for ugly white women and youd be surprised how some of my fellow white folks thought i was blk and talked **** about me but its the truth. melchoir explained it best by telling me to read soul on ice. ive still been reading it but it explains it all pretty good how someone can be brainwashed into thinking someone elses race is better than yours. keep keepin it real

  • Of course that's why they should do it, Dwayne, and I think that's why most people do it. They didn't go looking for a white, black, Asian or whatever person, they found someone they had a connection with who happened to be of a different race. The other people should be pitied and then forgotten.

I agree with you--if you happen to fall in love with someone of a different race, cool. But if you put down certain members of that different race, it's wrong...it can be that way with white people too. It's like white women saying they dislike black women, yet they are with a black guy. That black guy wouldn't be alive if it weren't for a black woman.
