Urgent help - I need to reconfigure a zyxel 600 series modem from people pc to sbc dsl. SBC doesnt support it?
Ok, my friend wanted to upgrade from People PC DSL to SBC. TOday, after having People PC shut off, she finds she cant get the SBC to work through her zyxel modem. She called SBC but they said since it isn't supported, they would charge her 99$ for tech support. I need to know the easiest, simplest, CHEAPEST way to get this connected. SHe doesnt have any money to buy another modem right now, but it seems there must be a way! PLEASE HELP!!! And if you can give step by step instructions, I will be grateful!
(PS - we are idiots to all the terms and complicated details but by no means dumb. If you can write an answer like we are dumb though, I might be able to understand and print out for her to follow! LOL Thanks!

Why doesn't SBC provide her with a new modem? I would call their customer support and tell them to disconnect if they do not provide a usable modem for her connection. In hind site, maybe she should have checked these details before turning off the current connection.
She really doesn't need tech support but a compatible modem.
