There has been some research on the subject but you must remember, something that affects one person, doesn't necessarily affect another the same way.

For example: Some expectant mums have tragically lost their partners and still manage to carry their child. Others have lost babies and believed that it was from stressing about something as trivial as work.

Or, some women have smoked and drank through pregnancy and given birth to healthy babes, and others have miscarried. Same can be said for stress.

    Everyone is different

I can tell you first hand that it is definitely true. In the past 5 years I have lost 6 pregnancies due to stress by 10 weeks. Now I just found out 3 weeks ago that i'm pregnant and my stress levels are higher then ever. I have done everything I can to lower my stress levels and had to go to the ER last Wed night and found out that I was 20 weeks then! Now i'm 21 weeks so even with my extremely high stress levels I guess this little one(or little ones) have a guardian angel looking over it/them that has kept the pregnancy safe.

Ok I have been pregnant 5 times and have all of my kids. If you are stressed then yes the baby will feel the stress it will either become for active or less active. It is something that you have to be prepared for being pregnant that is. It is one of the most amazing things in the world to experience especially when you feel the first sign of movement and then when you have the baby your whole world will melt trust me it does not matter how many kids you have every experience is different. GOOD LUCK.

Yes it can be harmful for both of you, my advice just dont give a crap about anything else but you and that baby, there is no need. Take this 9mths to just dedicate to you--you have the rest of your life to be stressed out about stuff and after the baby it can be even more stressful, think of it as this baby's life depends on you keepin your cool, just relax, take prego yoga or see a counselor just to talk to keep from being stressed--g/l

Yes the stress that you are putting on yourself will effect the baby as well. Don't worry to much about it since it has to be a large amount of stress to do any harm. As far as tips with pregnancy. I have learned and my Dr's have told me to listen to your body, if your tired sleep, hungry then eat, and make sure you drink plenty of water or fluids so that you don't get dehydrated cause that can cause early labor and cramps.

Yes, stress does effect the baby and women have even had miscarriages over stress during pregnancy. Some tips are to stay hydrated, healthy and active.

Studies about stress and pregnancy are very unreliable. Most studies deal with "severe stress" which can often cause people to change their eating and sleeping habits.
