New dishwasher...is this normal?
Since I first used it (last week), it leaves about 1/2 inch of dirty water on the bottom. It doesn't leak when I open the door, but it looks very antigenic. (It's not clogged with food BTW) Is this normal??

No. There should not be any standing water in the dishwasher.
If nothing else, double check your drain connection AND the drain hose. Good luck in all you do & may God bless.

Nope, not normal. I agree with the other answers... call the place you bought it from. I'm no pro but, sounds like an installation problem. Maybe the drain hose from the washer to the garbage disposal might be crimped at one of the turns. This could cause slow draining leaving water in the machine when the timer "times out". My guess.
Once you get it working, yep, always clean the excess junk from the dishes and, remember, dishwashers do not like to be idle. Try to use it pretty regularly. If they sit idle for more than a few days or weeks, soap or grease kinda tends to clog things up.
FOR NOW... get the Company to make it work first.
