Are pecans safe for cats to eat?

There's a pecan tree in my front yard. The squirrels drop broken pecans on the ground. The neighbors cat has been coming over and eating the pecans. I'm getting a little concerned. The pecans won't hurt the cat, will they?

i dont think so, as long as the cat isnt allergic,

he might be eating them because he/she is defficient in some kind of nutrient that is in nuts, he/she might just want the fat

i would leave the pecans to the squirrels if i was you and try and stop the cat from eating them.

  • They are high in fat, unless the cats eats lots over a prolonged time it should be safe, too much fat would give the cat diarrhea

Give the squirrels to the cat, much nicer

  • Unless the cat has an allergic reaction to nuts, the cat will be fine.

It will just get a very bad case of diarreah, eventually learning not to eat anymore. So watch where you walk in your yard.

Not unless they have an allergy to it. You should probably ask your neighbor just to make sure, but more than likely it's fine.

i dont think so because they r too big to eat n ur cat will probably choke n die. u should talk to ur neighbors about their cats coming to ur backyard. to oprevent ur cat from eating it,m he should be kept indoors at all times.
