I took a test & don't know what to think..?
Usually I follow the "a line in a line" rule. It was the kind of test that gets a + sign if you're pregnant and a -- if you aren't. So the - line was very thick/bold. The control line was thick and bold. I had the thinnest faintest | line and it wasn't centered, it was off to the left a bit. I mean I could see a + very very faintly, if I held it up to the light I couldn't see it. I will probably retest but should I assume I am?

What kind of test did you use? I got the same result with a clearblue test...the ones that use the Blue dy. I was not pregnant and the line was not centered. I took the pink dy tests and it came out negative and a digital test read negative also. Never buy the blue dy tests. Retest using a digital or a pink one.
Best of Luck.

If you got a plus, you most likely are pregnant.
Basically what the test is is litmus paper which registers only certain hormones when submerged...or in this case...peed on. It's not likely that you would get any results if that HCG litmus paper had not detected HCG (pregnancy hormone) unless the test was REALLY screwed up.
Definitely assume you are but I would still recommend a re-test. You don't have to get a super fancy one but if you only got a faint line on the other one, you still might want to get an early detection test like EPT or First response...just to make sure it registers.
Good Luck and most likely...congrats!

Yeah I would assume so, but take another test either tomorrow or a couple days for the hormone to build up and maybe you'll get a more definite answer. I wouldn't get the plus minus sign ones if you get another test. The digital ones or the dollar store two line ones are good.

You may be pregnant. Usually you dont get a false positive. Try waiting about 3 or 4 more days and then test again. Give it time so your HCG level can get higher and pick up the pregnancy hormone better.

I had this happen before. I was only a few days pregnant, but enough hcg to cause a positive result. it was very very faint. I miscarried a few days later. Wish I hadnt found out so early, I would have assumed it was my period....... But I'd just retest in a few days... See if it becomes clearer...

Hmm that's a odd result. I wouldn't say yes to it or assume I was. That's a weird result. It could have been bleed off of the ink they use when your urine passed it, but still hard to say for sure.
It does sound like you're pregnant, but the line being off is odd.
Use a digital, CBE is highly sensitive.

Assume that you are and buy a digital test. I had the same problem in 2004 & I was pregnant so in 2007 when my cheap walmart brand tests didn't show up anything I splurged on EPT digital & I was pregnant with my daughter.

if you see a second line faint it more then likely mean you are but dont have enough hch in your urine yet that is what the test pick up on...if your late on your period chances are really that you may be but wait maybe a week and take it again by then it should be accurate enough because hch doubles in your body every two days...if you cant wait go see a doc and have your blood drawn..good luck

If you have a plus sign then you should assume you're pregnant but absolutely RETEST to make sure.

a faint + is indeed a + my loveee.
you can retest if you like ; try using your 1st morning urine
and see what it comes out to be. cause the 1st time i took
the test it was very very faint i barely could tell the next day
and day after it was as clear as can be. good luck
