Can I put a Kawasaki Regulator/Rectifier on a Suzuki?

What I want to know is can I take a rectifier from a Kawasaki and put it on a Suzuki? I am just trying to find the cheapest parts I can and I cannot seem to find a cheap Suzuki rectifier. I have a 1982 GS450 and I found a rectifier for an 81 KZ440 for really cheap. Is there going to be a problem interchanging these parts? I don't know a ton about electrical stuff so I don't want to mess up the bike any more then it already is. Any help would be much appreciated.

in general, if the new rectifier has the same current capacity and the same number of phases, then yes it can be fitted. but for the same money, about $25 you can go to an electronic supplier and buy a three phase rectifier of at least 100volts and 5 to 10 amps more than the capacity of your generator. (in this case perhaps about 30 amps should do the trick.) then you will have a superior part for ideal low price. just remember that cheap used parts are often damaged and don't work as needed. (i have lots of used parts that don't work!)

As some distance as first-class is going--construct first-class, engineering, reliability, durability, all 4 of the Japanese mgrs are very well. People who've owned one or the opposite have a tendency to be company-dependable, however it is extra the producing philosophy than the company. Then, there are twins and there are fours, and they are extraordinary. Twins paintings extra on torque, fours paintings extra on horsepower. So twins are somewhat more potent on the backside of the rev variety and fours are happier close the redline and feature a greater best pace. That is, all different matters being identical, which they seldom are. Fours are smoother and extra 'subtle', twins have extra 'individual' and attach us oldies to the well historic days of bikes, earlier than the day of the UJM (Universal Japanese Motorcycle). Twins vibrate extra however the vibration is a lessen frequency that is no longer as disturbing. A 4 that is out of song or demands a carb synch vibrates at a 'buzzy' frequency that makes your arms cross numb. I suppose they each have their benefits and downsides, it is quite only a subject of individual option. In the ones olden days, a 'journeying motorbike' was once any motorbike you might bungee a napping bag to. Today is the age of specialization so we've physical activities motorcycles, tourers, cruisers, twin-physical activities, and many others. and many others, however within the day of twins there have been -requisites- and also you converted the motorbike to do what you desire. Any medium-dimension or greater motorbike at present will do journeying simply pleasant, despite the fact that a supersport goes to be very uncomfortable and any motorbike could advantage from a fairing, or a minimum of a windshield, if you are using all day at prime pace. If you are quite critical approximately journeying, an oem saddle perhaps pleasant. And of direction panniers, and many others. Also, all lthe motorcycles you point out are 'spinoff'. The Gladius and Vee-Strom are established at the SV 650. The ER6N is a bare Ninja. The CB600 Hornet stocks its engine with it is sportier brother the CBR six hundred (and the Yamaha FZ6R stocks its with the R6). Perhaps a twist of fate, they're all makes an attempt to derive a extra specialised motorbike right into a extra commonplace-reason one. Any of them are greater than sufficient for a two-three day excursion, as long as you'll be able to devise a option to bring adequate stuff on them. And I strongly suspect you'll be able to be blissful with whichever one you select. One factor you could take a look at is a few googling. Google "[mannequin] evaluate", or "[mannequin] vs [mannequin]". Look on YouTube as good. But quite it comes all the way down to individual option. Some folks simply certainly like something, a few yet another. For illustration, I quite appreciate the Suzuki ninety measure water-cooled V-dual, I suppose its only a very fashionable layout. But then I am extra of a dual individual than a 4 individual.

The number of wires and colors of these wires will be different than what you need. The connector will be different. and since I can't open a new reg/rect unit to double check and make sure what is connected to what inside, you would most likely either 1)waste your money on a unit that will surely burn out quickly 2)waste your money on a unit that will not do what you are hoping it was gonna do for you.

Have you called local salvage yards? Or did a google search for "motorcycle salvage yards". If not, then do so now. The GS450 was not a rare bike so the salvage yards have them, maybe not as many as the Honda CM450E but they do have them. When you get to the salvage yards, just type in what you want, and wait for the responces to come in.
