Immigrants taking our work?
I mean illegal immigrants, they take the jobs that the american people need, and do them for extremely low wares. Yeah, I know "without them, everything would be expensive because then farmers would have to pay workers more". While this may be true, I'm pretty sure (legal) american residents (not citizens) would do job for a low pay.
Also, my dad works at General Electric, as a Computer Intelligence Manager, and he has to talk to people from India(where I come from), Mexico, China, Japan etc. at odd hours. I think this is extremely unfair and unethical. According to my dad, companies do this to save money, WTF. They're giving jobs to people from other countries instead of American residents, THATS BS. What do You think.
Also, it bugs me that we have to pay for their schooling, welfare, etc.
Can someone look at my other question please
Its about my blackberry

This is how this works, illegals depress wages, they cost us way more than they put in. I grew up in LA, yo hablo espanol lengua, pero I'm a white guy. In LA most whites who must work without an education can't get a job, because businesses would rather hire illegals. Why? because they cost less, this is a fact! When the illegals go wages increase then you can pay for that $2.00 head of lettuce. So see illegals are not good for the US, they are bad, and only people who really work hard for their mone see this. Americans would work these jobs if they apid decent. But they do not. So they exploit these illegals and YOU pay more taxes and recieve less pay because of them.

They aren't ONLY taking jobs picking cotton. Drive by any construction site. Construction was once a good job where a man could make a respectable living, and the people in the business were trained professionals of their respective trades. Now, in order to make higher profits off new homes and apartments, companies gather up a bunch of mexicans with no qualification other than the willingness to work for wages that don't provide an American standard of living. That is not market competition, it's breaking the law - therefore it's a black market practice. And just watch, you can already see some of the newer homes & apartments falling apart after 3 years because of poor workmanship. Some of the other jobs they take are transitional jobs. True, no American wants to make a career out of washing cars or cooking at a restaurant. But what about high school and college kids? What about someone who was laid off from their job and wants to do something while looking for another job in their field? Isn't it better to let Americans do these jobs? Look what the illegals have done to places like Los Angeles. Overcrowding, slums, filth and gang violence in the streets.... they just don't live the way you and I do. The flood gates at the border didn't open until 1965. Jobs were filled, ditches were dug, cars were washed, homes were cleaned, etc, before 1965, without the influx of illegal aliens. What you said about offshore jobs is true as well.

NAFTA shafted America. things were set in motion a long time ago to ruin the American dream. the government can get away with all sort of back door tactics when the American people are so focused on finding a job, keeping their homes and feeding their family etc.. the illegal immigrants are allowed to be here. i cant blame them when the government does nothing to strengthen its borders or deport illegals. corporations are now global so they can look the world over to find the country that will sell its people out for the lowest wages. this had done nothing for Americans but allow the companies here to lower their wages too. without good income the American people have no power over their lives. this puts all the power in the governments hands and that's just the way they want it. this will lead to the government dictating our lives and not the individual.

while the low cost of goods is real, it's not as bad as stated. most americans would pay an additional $8 per year if all illegals were removed from agriculture.
as for other jobs, i have a friend who is an interior trim carpenter who used to earn $38-$45/hr and now because of illegals he earns about $17 and has to pay taxes on that which they don'r and the buildings/homes he works on are no cheaper for it.
another aspect to this is the people who have such an issue w/ outsourcing are the ones who think we need to allow amnesty to these people. what they don't understand is that it's the same thing. non-americans doing jobs americans can do and the money is leaving our econlomy (at least a sizable portion of it).

The employers that illegally hire them should have their business license taken away and they should be fined. If they somehow do it again, they should be sent to prison. Illegals keep the wages artificially low in the labor market. It is true that the price of some products would go up if illegals were no longer in the U.S. but what people tend to forget is that the wages for those jobs would then be much higher. Therefore, the American consumer would be able to afford those products. Any employer who hires an illegal is selling out the country in the name of greed- pure and simple. It's an unpatriotic act to hire an illegal. A very unpatriotic act. It's just plain wrong.

About GE and other companies hiring people in India & and other countries to save $$$ on labor. Do not buy their products or services. As simple as that.
If illegal immigrants are not good for the US, then, legalize them. As simple as that.
You know, find a solution.

I agree...but businesses are in it for money...and you can't blame them. Sometimes they have to stay afloat and if that means getting more help for less pay then they do.
We have also not been good to big businesses in encouraging them to stay here. I get absolutely angry when I call HP for tech support and talk to someone in Indonesia I can't understand!. they are nice enough...very sweet as a matter of fact...but you can't understand them!
I DO agree with you on businesses here in AMERICA not encouraging ILLEGALS and they should be FINED HEAVILY for giving illegals jobs. This is what is keeping them here and it is not right. They might get lower wages but it costs California ALONE over 9 BILLION dollars a year for illegals...and across AMERICA it costs 338 BILLION a year for them....and that comes out of THEIR pockets and ours because they think they are saving money. In fact they are causing taxes to raise and then dems can complain no one is getting help. THEY are...but they also think it is ok to give ILLEGALS help before AMERICANS...and to waste 30,000 bucks on 3 marsh mice and to shut off water to hundreds of farmers and their livestock to save a handful of smelt!
If the dems SPENT MONEY WISELY and looked at the bigger picture right now....then they would know that some things are making our costs go up and isn't insurance companies but those that have businesses and hire illegals which in turn drains our social programs. NOW next year in 2010...BOZO wants to make them all legal and GIVE THEM RETRO BENEFITS and social security! YEP...like we can AFFORD THAT on top of all BOZO'S spending NOW! I don't know about you...but counting pennies everyday and losing more everyday is getting depressing!

Why do people continue to say the the illegals are doing farming jobs? They have practically taken over residential home construction jobs.
Factory type assembly jobs.
House cleaning jobs in hotels and motels.
And much more.
But EVERYBODY talks only about fruit picking in California and that they don't want their orange juice to go up in price.
THIS IS FAR TOO SIMPLISTIC APPROACH TO A REAL JOB PROBLEM IN THE U.S.
But everybody seems to just ignore it and pretend it does not exists.

I would tend to agree. Especially since work in the farm sector is such a small percentage of what illegal workers are doing here. Having said that the real problem is illegal employers. I commend your country on having the wisdom of not allowing Wal-Marts to open their chain in your country also.

Your dad is right they are saving money
China is working because of the money they need to pay china
It is cheap for the US to pay china and so they think that china should do the work because they dont even have to pay them alot of money
Some citizens would do a job for low pay but other immigrants would take lower pay
