What is the standard operating voltage and amperage for a fuel injector?

I have a fuel injector that I ripped off an old van that I'm using for a project. However, I don't know what kind of voltage and amperage it requires to pulse it. Also will a constant current damage it? I was planning on rigging a push button to it if I needed to. Also, if by chance you know the pressure required in the fuel line to get it to spray that would be nice.

A fuel injector is ground controlled through a vehicles pcm with 12v applied. they probobly don't pull more than 3-4 amps there are only a solenoid that lifts pintletl off the seat so im sure you can hold it open for a while there only controlled on cars tachieveve stoichiometric efficiency 14.7:1 a/f ratio. most cars have at least 40 psi fuel pressure but im sure any pressure would flow through

  • an injector only consumes milli-amps, and the voltage depends on the system.

You do not say if it is petrol or diesel ,there is a massive difference in pressure between them
