Now that I am out I do. Combat is not a good thing by any means, but sometimes I miss it. I was doing better over there than here. Sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed by life back here in the states, and playing a game takes my mind off of it.

If you are wondering if shooter games can somehow prepare you to be a better Soldier/Marine/Warrior, no not really. I think you're time would be better spent going for a long run, learning a martial art, or just walking through a city imagining everyone in that city wants to kill you.

That is like asking if military people like peanut butter....

I was military and never played any of those games...but I'm not really a gamer...some people in the military like computer/video games and others have a life...(just joking.)

A lot of the younger guys like some of the games. When I was in the Navy we had a dude on the ship who spend every free moment on his game system. I don't know what he played but he seemed to enjoy it...

We worked in medical dept. togehter...and that is all he did during deployment...while everyone else wanted off the ship and go on liberty.

Some do, some don't. I for one do enjoy FPS but that's probably because I'm younger than most (I'm barely a PFC!). Playing shooter games doesn't really make you more intuitive and better out in the field, it just gives you a chance to relax a bit and waste time lazing around, you know, just like being on the computer and wasting time on Y!

I'm an OCS cadidate and my friend's a 2LT and we play COD4 and COD Waw online several times a week. To be fair, we're both in our mid 20's and have yet to complete training, or in my case, even start. I would imagine it's about the same ratio as civilian gamers if they even play games at all.

No. I understand the place you may get that theory from however. human beings in the protection stress dont disapprove of the video games, yet of 14 12 months previous young infants asking dumb questions as a effect from enjoying them.

In the words of my father, why would I want to get attacked by a bear in the desert on a computer or T.V. screen when I have had it happen in real life!

Well, when i went and stayed with the coldstream guards (u.k) for the weekend, they had a silent scope arcade machine - the kind that comes with a plastic sniper rifle, they also had a point-blank machine too.

I took great pleasure in entering my name onto the leader board.

Hubby doesn't like them at all, nor do most of his co-workers.
