Can I hook up a different dvd player to an existing surround sound system?
I have a Sony dvd player and surround sound system with 5 speakers. The dvd player sucks, but I still want to use the surround sound setup. I have a new Sony dvd player that I want to use, but it doesn't have speaker connections. Is there a way I can just use the old dvd player as an amp and still use the new one for playing dvds? Both dvd players have HDMI.
Thanks David, it does have HDMI but if I plug in the new dvd player into the old one using an HDMI cable, then how do I connect the old dvd player to the TV?

It all depends whether the receiver (what the speakers plug into) has an HDMI input. If it does then you can just use that to plug your other bluray player in.
