Halley as a boy's name?

My grandfather's (daddy's father) name was Halley, pronounced like Hallie Berry. So it's always been a in-between name that I preferred more on boy's but most people use on girls. I've always loved the name for a boy and wanted to use it, not as a first but as a middle, unless he just looked like a Halley. My question is, if you met a boy named Halley, would it seem weird to you because it is mainly used on girls. And also what are some names that you can come up with that sound good with Halley as a middle name and the last name Daneker?

Also what is your opinion on the name Killian (Cillian) pronounced how it looks? Which spelling do you prefer and what are some combinations you can come up with using it as a first and/ or middle name using the same last name?

Thanks guys, and please if you don't know how to give good advice don't answer this question, I don't want to hear that a name makes you want to "puke" :)

It's seriously one of my favorite names in the world for a girl, and I know Hailey and Hallie can be on a guy to. Truthfully times change, and I'm sorry but I think it would sound girly on a guy now a days. Just do it as a middle name if youa re having a boy to still honor him though :) Maybe something like:

    Ethan Halley Daneker

    Adam Halley Daneker

    Justin Halley Daneker

    Brandon Halley Daneker

    Christian Halley Daneker

    William Halley Daneker

    Nicholas Halley Daneker

    Ryan Halley Daneker

    Jacob Halley Daneker

    Evan Halley Daneker

    Gavin Halley Daneker

    Kevin Halley Daneker

    Noah Halley Daneker

Oh and I prefer Cillian if you are going to prounounce it that way. That sounds awesome with Halley Daneker!

  • Seriously I like it as a middle name. Quite possible a first name. I like the other users suggestions of

    Ethan Halley Daneker

    Justin Halley Daneker

    Brandon Halley Daneker

    Christian Halley Daneker

    William Halley Daneker

    Nicholas Halley Daneker

    Ryan Halley Daneker

    Jacob Halley Daneker

    Evan Halley Daneker

    Kevin Halley Daneker

I do not like Killian. A little too Irish to me and too much like a last name and the beer Killian's Red. Close to Kill. Maybe change toe spelling from Halley to Haly.

Halley isn't a common name, but it's not a bad name. Plus, I think it's great to use family names. Used with a long A it's the name of one young Hollywood type, isn't it? Haley Joel Osmund -- or something like that.

My husband is Norwegian and his name is Kellan. Not exactly Killian, but close. I like it, it's unusual but not one that people mispronounced.

I actually like Halley for a boy, it's very unique for a little boy. I would say go for it.
