Abnormal postpartum bleeding?
So I just had my baby boy on the 23rd, and the resulting bleeding doesn't seem to follow anything I've read. I'm not bleeding excessively, I know that would be cause to go to the hospital... instead, I had bright red blood and a few clots for 6 days and now I seem to have next to nothing coming out. Everything I read says that I should have bright red blood for 2-4 days and then it should be watery and pink, but I just went from bright red to almost nothing.
Wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows if it's anything to worry about?

Everyone is different. As long as you are getting rest and fluids and you are not having severe cramping you should be just fine. Don't be surprised if the bleeding starts up again for a day or two at a time. Your regular periods may be a little off too for a few months as your body and your hormones readjust. If you are breastfeeding this may also change the color and density of your flow. If you are really worried call your doctor's nurse and have a chat with her about it.

I went from soaking the maternity pads to nothing in 4 days. I asked my Dr and she said I was lucky. Still, I had a bit of residual bleeding for the next 2 weeks on and off.

I did. It's absolutely nothing to worry about,it'll pick up/get rid of what it needs to get rid of. I had my first cycle 5 weeks after I'd given birth, and that's exactly how mine started out! It's nothing to worry about, every woman's body handles things differently. My mom told me after me,she only bled AND had her cycle all within 4 weeks!! You may have "breakthrough" type bleeding on and off for the next month or so!

Every womans body is different...your postpartum bleeding will be different to everyone else just as your normal period is unique.... I wouldnt worry about it unless you start hemorrhaging.
