I need some costume ideas for me and my 3 year old son.

  • How do you get a toddler to stop wetting his pants?

My son is potty trained... as long as he's naked. I can put him to bed without a pull-up and he won't wet the bed, I can let him run around the house naked and he'll use the toilet every time he has to go, but every time I try to put clothes on him, he wets them.

He wants to go to nursery school with his cousin (exact same age, they do everything together), but he can't go until he's fully potty trained and I'm out of ideas.

  • family tree software for kids?

My husband and I have very large, complex families. Our son is starting to get curious about exactly who everyone is in relation to him, and I want to make a family tree to help explain this to him.

I have tried drawing it out on paper, but frankly it's just too frustrating, there are too many people, so I want a computer program to do it for me... but all the programs I see just make ugly charts for research purposes. I want something colorful and childish with pictures of his family members so we can print it out and frame it for him.

Hopefully someone here can help me out.

  • Anyone know of a potluck meal that can be frozen (or will keep a few days), but isn't served hot?

Our family picnic is coming up. Normally I make salad rolls, but this year I won't have time. We have a wedding to go to the day before the picnic and will have to take the overnight bus back to get home in time for the family picnic.

So I need something that I can make before we leave, either something that can be frozen or something that will still be fresh after 3 or 4 days. However, it can't be something that needs to be served hot - usually the oven space is all claimed, and there are a few hours of activities before eating.

Oh, and it should be an entree or appetizer... deserts are covered already.

    Any ideas?

  • Looking for grocery list and coupon software?

I can't believe I'm having such a hard time finding this! I want software or a website that will let me create a database of all the coupons I have cut out. Then I want to be able to make a grocery list and have it tell me what coupons I have for things on that list. Bonus points if it notifies me when a coupon is going to expire.

Hopefully someone can help me out.

  • Baby mice in the cold?

I found a mouse with babies this morning. They're sitting in a trash can now but I'm not sure what to do with them. There's an abandoned house where we normally release mice (it's far enough away that they don't come back and gives them some shelter so they might still survive), but so far we've only ever caught adult mice, and I'm not comfortable releasing all these babies out there without knowing if they have a chance or not.

The babies all have fur and their eyes are open... but I don't know much about mice. I've been googling all day but can't seem to find an answer.

  • My toddler's poo smells like acid?

This morning when I went to get my 16month old son out of his crib, his diaper was full of poo that smelled like acid or vomit or something along those lines - it reeked! As soon as I opened the door, I panicked and looked at his heater to make sure there weren't any batteries or cleaning products or anything near it (not that we keep them in his room, and not that I know what they would smell like near heat, but it was my first thought as to what might be causing the smell).

I tried to do research online, but everything I came up with was really little babies who had milk intolerances or toddlers who couldn't eat certain fruits because of the acid or something... but he hasn't had anything he doesn't normally eat. He's probably had more bananas than usual in the last few days (he loves them and asks for them repeatedly when they're in the house), but those aren't acidic.

I'm just trying to figure out if this is something to be worried about, or if it's just another strange baby poop.

  • little flap of skin on vagina?

So I was poking around to put my menstrual cup this morning and I found a little flap of skin. More like a loop, actually, I can put my finger through it. It doesn't hurt or anything, it's just kind of odd that it's there. It's not the remnants of my hymen, it's too low down (like right at the entrance).

I tore a lot when I gave birth to my son, so I'm thinking maybe the stitches healed strangely and I just didn't notice until now (it's been a year and a half). Anyone else had anything like this?

Oh, and all you rude dudes who are going to show up and make uneducated comments to stir up crap... just walk away. Maybe if you get off your *** and stop staring at the screen you'll find a girlfriend who can stand your presence.

  • What is the best free (or cheap) comic design software?

I'm working on a webcomic. I will be doing most of the artwork by hand, but I would like some software that comes with some pre-designed layouts that I can put my artwork into as well as some different speach bubbles and comic fonts. It would be especially useful if it also offers the option to create a book, since I might eventually sell hard copies of the book.

  • Jehovah's Witness (or Christians in general) - why do you follow the bible?

Ok, so everywhere I have ever lived, there has been a Jehovah's Witness that comes by every couple of weeks. Honestly, I admire them - I admire anyone with that kind of dedication to anything. However, I have always been freakishly interested in other religions and cultures, and it drives me nuts when I can't find the answer to a question. This is the conversation I have had with every Jehovah's Witness I have ever met:

Me: So why do you follow the bible?

    JW: Because it's God's word.

Me: But how do you know it's God's word?

JW: It says so right here *insert whatever passage they want to read*

Me: So you follow the Bible because the Bible says so?

And then they get all flustered and don't know what to say. Sometimes they're very, very good at changing the subject, sometimes they give me a magazine and leave... but no one has ever actually given me an answer.

So, anyone here have an answer?

  • How much is Tim Hortons' coffee?

I thought the prices were available online and now I'm writing a blog post and don't have the details, lol.

I need to know how much a large coffee is, how much whipped cream costs and how much a large cafe mocha is.

    Thanks in advance!

  • I need a business name?

I've been doing freelance work for a while, and I'm thinking of actually turning it into an official business and making a website so that I can do my work and not have to pay commission to the various freelance websites I work through.

I'm a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, which is why I'm having such a hard time coming up with a name. Here's a list of what I've been doing recently:

-Writing and selling articles for people to use on websites, blogs, e-zines, ect.

    -Proofreading/editing

-Website consultation (telling people what they can do to improve their website and attract more traffic)

    -Clay figurines

    -Personalized cartoon characters

-Photography (selling prints as well as stock images)

I'm also in training to be a web designer and I'm constantly trying out new crafts. Basically, I'm looking for a name I can use that reflects the fact that I do a lot of different things and I can't come up with anything good.

Any help is very much appreciated!

  • Is there a community like FoodBuzz for parenting/mom blogs?

I think FoddBuzz is awesome - it brings all the food-related blogs together in one community so that you can search them. When you click on a post in the search results, it doesn't bring you to a feed they've exported from the blog. Instead, it shows you the actual blog in a frame with the FoodBuzz community links along the top.

I have a mom blog and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a similar community I could add my blog to.

  • Where can I find 1/2 pint, wide mouth mason/canning jars in bulk (or just really cheap)?

I'm making wedding favors, so I need like 250-300 of them. I don't really care what brand they are, but then need to work out to less than $1 each, including shipping. They also have to ship from somewhere in Canada because I really don't want to know what they would charge to take these over the border.

And Lee Valley doesn't have them, lol, I checked already.

  • Help me find my wedding dress?

I tried on the DaVinci 1417 (http://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/pr/Da-Vinci-8417/2... and loved it... or most of it. Now I'm looking for something similar (with the collar and the v-neck, don't worry about the beading, I'm going to replace it anyways) only as a halter with an open back. It might not exist - I'm not sure it's been out long enough for other designers to mimic it - but if it does, any help is much appreciated.

  • New moms: What do you wish you had known before your baby was born?

I have a blog (http://www.thepinkpacifier.com)/ and I'd like to make a post with all the little details that people often don't think to tell new moms. I've found that there are a lot of things that the parents I know didn't think to tell me because to them it seemed like common knowledge - but to new moms, everything is new.

So, I wanted to get the input of other moms (and dads) to make sure that I covered everything. Is there any advice or facts that you wish you had known before your baby was born?

  • Abnormal postpartum bleeding?

So I just had my baby boy on the 23rd, and the resulting bleeding doesn't seem to follow anything I've read. I'm not bleeding excessively, I know that would be cause to go to the hospital... instead, I had bright red blood and a few clots for 6 days and now I seem to have next to nothing coming out. Everything I read says that I should have bright red blood for 2-4 days and then it should be watery and pink, but I just went from bright red to almost nothing.

Wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows if it's anything to worry about?

  • Does EA Games (specifically Sims 3) have a suggestion forum or e-mail address? I can't find one anywhere...?

I just remembered that Sims 2 had a fish tank and I wanted to suggest they put one or more in the new game. They have a fish bowl, but it's not quite the same... and I'm a little aquarium obsessed, lol.

Anyways, I've looked everywhere and can't find one, so maybe it doesn't exist... but maybe someone else can find it.

  • Those of you in the military/army/anything of that sort... how do you do it?

    I'm just curious, really.

There was a time when I was thinking about joining the military. I'm just not the kind of person it takes to do the job, though. Actually, that's not true... I'm not the person for the fighting part, give me a job that has something to do with math or drafting and I'd do fine - behind a desk, with a pencil in hand. But it was the fighting I was thinking about, because I once promised a very good friend of mine that if he went overseas for any reason other than thinking it was the right thing to do, I would follow him (he had a slew of reasons that were all really not good ones for getting into the military).

Anyways, moving on... The reason I could never be out there fighting is partially because I really just can't take orders - if someone is wrong, they're wrong, and I'm not afraid to tell them. I can follow instructions, I've had jobs and bosses and such, but I'm not afraid to stand up for myself when someone goes about something the wrong way or when something just seems wrong to me. And something tells me that wouldn't go over well in the military.

But the main reason is... they're just people. I see people as people, no matter what they believe, no matter where they're from, none of it matters. People are just people. I wouldn't be able to stop myself thinking about the fact that everyone out there, on both sides, is doing what they think is right. The fact that every one of them has a family somewhere, someone waiting to find out if they're alive or not...

Maybe I just have a totally different mindset... I don't know... but I wanted to see what other people had to say. I generally don't agree with war because I think leaders should be able to stand up and speak for themselves without condemning millions of people to death... but that's just me.

  • Do you ever look back on questions you've asked or answered?

I go back all the time. I add information to my questions, in response to what other people are saying. I check to see if anyone has added info to the questions I've answered and edit my post in response.. also in response to other answers to those questions, sometimes.

But it just occured to me, as I was doing this today, that a lot of people probably don't ever go back to read my edits because they don't get e-mails when someone edits, only when someone posts.

Just wondering if anyone out there actually does go back and look, like I do at least once a day, and if anyone thinks it's a good idea for Yahoo to start giving us e-mail notification when someone edits.
