Dedicated runners go running, not jogging which implies a more leisurely pace. Marathoners run. Also, people went jogging in the 80s and 90s. Now they usually go running.

Jogging is after walking and before running. Running is after jogging but before sprinting.

Running is faster than jogging. That's about it.

I've always taken the term *jogger* as someone who runs slowly and a short distance runner of 5K and less. However a *runner* has a vaster definition; I consider myself a runner bc I'm pretty fast and I do at least 5 miles a day however if a marathoner looked at me, they'd probably consider me a jogger.

It's relative to the individual. Running tends to imply a faster pace and a higher level of exertion.

Outside of that, joggers count calories first and foremost. Runners train, usually periodically entering races.
