    No, because it's a sickness.

It's best to put them in jail for life.

Once an abuser always an abuser.

    Some do, some don't.

Depends on if they get help or not.

Depends on if they ever realize that what they did was wrong. Most people who are abusive don't truly realize that what they are doing is considered "abuse" at the time it is happening. It takes time, sometimes years, for people to look back and see the wrong in their actions.

Source(s): Had an abusive father who is now very loving and definitely regrets his past actions, though it took him a very long time to come to terms with the fact that he ever did anything wrong....

Both of my parents wont admit the stuff that they did. Both at times have mentioned little pieces which to me means that they do know.

I think they may regret at times but for the most part block it out like it never happened.

I sincerely hope that anyone who abuses a child, in any fashion, is haunted for the rest of their lives by guilt for the torment that they have caused.

yes because many states like Maryland have no Statutes of Limitations on Child Abuse so the child can still sue the parent after they grow up

I hope so. If they go to jail for it and get man raped I bet they will regret that. We can dream.

I think some do and I think some dont ever really accept that what they did was wrong, in their mind they were doing what is right and normal, which is very very sad.

I don't think regret is in their genetic code.

One can only hope...but I am sure there isn't a universal answer to this question.

I know a lot more mothers that abuse their kids than Dads.
