Thinking about buying a shotgun?

i was thinking about buying a shotgun and was wondering what make and model of shotgun everyone has or what make and model of shotgun you like and why. price really isnt a problem for me i would rather buy a quality gun instead of one that will not last very long, so im open to any suggestions. thank you for any help you can give me

Update:

i will probably use the gun for skeet shooting, just messing around at the ranch and bird hunting also so im looking for an all around gun

Model 870™ Shotguns. The Most Popular Shotgun in Firearms History.

If the Model 870™ were introduced today, it would be hailed as a major advance in pump-action shotgun design - the ultimate in strength, durability, silky-smooth bind-free action, and sleek classical lines.

For versatility a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 combo with two barrells. 18.5 inch for home defense and 28 inch or so for hunting and skeet needs. This will be versatile and allow you to do anything you want to do with a shotgun. You will not be limited in aftermarket accessories or modifications. Cant go wrong with either and they are the most common and readily available when it comes to parts, extra barrells or gunsmithing.

Both are very durable and should last you for decades.

Any dick's sporting goods, cabelas, bass pro, even walmarts that still sell guns should have them.

I would invest in something that is going to retain it's value, but you aren't afraid to scratch it occasionally. I am a Browning fan, have shot them for 40+ years and have never had a problem with any of them, and I even had a B-2000, one of Brownings not so proud models....It also depends on what you are going to use it for....The Browning Gold Hunter is a great all around gun and will shoot all loads from 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 without any mods. I also own several superposed over- unders, and side by sides....Great guns

For an all around shotgun, it's going to be hard to beat the remington 870. Interchangeable barrels and changeable choke tubes make for a huge variety of combinations.

Benelli is also top notch, if price is no object.

Personally, I prefer side by side shotguns in 12 and 20 gage for hunting, but I wouldn't recommend them to beginners since they require a lot more practice to shoot well. Still, once mastered, they offer the fastest follow up shots, and a choice of two different chokes available at your fingertips without removing and installing a different tube.

I just bought a sxs Urgartechea 12 gauge.

I really like it because it's a safe option for shotguns that gives you a second shot.

Good value too as these firearms are out of popular favor right now.

Coin finish, chased and engraved, ejectors, takes 2 and 3/4 shells. Pistol grip. All in all a darn nice gun.

Fits the bill for what you've stated and they are so reasonably priced, hard to pass up!

The 2 generally accepted "all around" shotguns are the Mossberg 500 12 guage pump.....

and the Remington 870 Express 12 guage pump.......

Both of these are reliable, easy to use and have legions of fans... Millions of owners cant be wrong.....

If you like semi auto the Rem 1100 G3 is the only choice. If you like a pump gun the 870 is one that won't fail and will last forever. Get the classy 870 wingmaster which is the top grade. Unless you like different barrels the remchoke allows you to change out chokes for different hunting options.

Well most either get Mossberg 500 series

    or

    Remington 870s

These are the most common pump actions people get now a days. Both are good brands.

I have a mossberg 835 12 guage 3.5 inch magnum with a turkey choke. I find it to be deadly accurate. I don't know what kind of hunting you are going to use your gun for, but if it's turkey you had in mind you should look into mossberg

Both me and my father shoot Rem. 870s with vent ribs. They can be had in different levels of wood and are very dependable and never had no feed problems. They also hold their value well if maintained well. You can also get a slug barral for them.
