Why is every one finding fault with what Roy did?

as some one who appreciates wrestlers and BJJ specialists i actually enjoyed the fight with roy and completely agree with the stoppage. i have noticed though that a lot of people are ragging on roy for exploiting a "loophole". let me ask all of u this. if roy went out and threw bombs and got K.Oed that would have been dumb, if roy teed off on kimbos head and broke his hand he would have been dumb. so because he did the right thing preserved himself in the fight and still dominated kimbo he did something wrong?

i don't understand maybe some one can explain it to me

Update:

the crucifix position is one of the hardest postions to atain on any one so you obviously have little knowledge of what it takes to hold some one kimbos size like that.

Update 2:

its not about damage its about neutralizing some one. thats whats wrong with new fans of mma. the point of a fight isnt always to kill the other guy. and as for that not being roys plan, he stated that it was his plan, get out of the first fight and be able to keep fighting. he did just that.

I don't have so much of a problem with the fight as I do with the way he acted afterward. He took down a guy with zero ground game and put him in a position where he couldn't do much damage even if he did throw harder punches. It was a boring fight, but I understand a win is a win.

Nevertheless, he got up and called himself the king. The king? Once Kimbo shook off the rust, he was whoopin Roy's *** on their feet. And Nelson is far more experienced than Kimbo. So take the win, but don't strut like you dominated. You did enough not to get knocked out and get a weak stoppage.

The ref should have stood them up, not stopped the fight. Roy was doing NO damage with his punches. He was hitting Kimbo in the forehead - the hardest part of your head - and he had no power from his position. I don't believe he was trying to avoid a hand injury. I think he was punching as hard as he could using only his arm from an awkward position.

I respect Roy, and although I voiced my support for Kimbo, I always knew subconciously that Roy was going to win. But it was his methods that made me rage.

He was literally trying to suffocate Kimbo with his stomach. I truly believe this was on purpose, and it becomes evident near the end of round one. He's using the fact he's the size of a mini-whale to his advantage.

As much as I want kimbo to win, he won't. But you put Roy in the ring with ANYONE with good ground game, and his fat *** is beat. I'm wanting a Roy vs Wes fight too.

I thought it was kind of a ***** move to tell all his teammates to start counting off all of his "punches" in advance to make the ref see what a good job he was doing. Seriously, who the hell does that?

Second, Kimbo has literally no ground game. In his training sessions, his opponent would just let him get up from his guard. Guess what? In a fight they don't just let you get up, they mount you, flatten your *** out and try to end you (except Roy, who was content to play patty cake with Kimbo's head).

(Edit) Also, when Roy got the mount position in round 1 he didn't try ANY ground and pound. Rad is right, he just tried to suffocate Kimbo with his blubber.

I TOTALLY agree with you Brandon!

I am a bit mystified with those who down Roy. If you look at it from and educated (educated in the game of MMA) point of view you see what Roy did and how smart it was.

I guess a lot of people are swap bombs with people 'till one falls down. I understand that from an entertainment point of view. But, fighters realize a win is a win. So, fans should realize, at some point of following the fight game, that some smart fighters will do this (I have definitely seen it before in boxing and MMA).

Roy was smart about the whole thing. In the segments they showed before the fight he explained his whole game plan to his teammates. He explained the crucifix, the jab (his teammates pointed out this would be good), his ground-and-pound win. He knew what he was doing.

The jab kept Kimbo at bay. He fired out there so Kimbo wouldn't just have free reing to bull-rush him.

He did try a clinch early on and Kimbo blocked him. I suspect he didn't shoot early because it was common knowledge Kimbo would be looking for it. I think he used that jab to test him out and set up the takedown.

He did say he would try some striking on his feet. He did that. But, he quickly learned of Kimbo's power (Kimbo can crack no doubt). I think he quickly realized the futility of that plan. But, the guy is a veteran and realized what he can and cannot do, what he should and shouldn't do.

He took Kimbo down. He put him in the crucifix (a beautiful, dominant, move, very smart/experienced fighters will use). Then he started pounding him.

His starts hitting with small punches. The small punches alerted the referee. He got interrupted by the end of the round. He continued his gameplan in round two. He does the same thing and the referee had no choice but to stop. Kimbo wasn't able to defend himself.

What is wrong with that? Roy Nelson is a veteran MMA figher. He has as much ring experience as several veterans out there. He is a former IFL champion (which someone explained to me in one of my posts that the IFL compared to the UFC was like comparing Backyard Wrestling to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). hmmm...those Backyard Wrestlers out there must be pretty darn good then! someone should sign them up! if anyone is interested i am a bonafide Backyard Wrestling champion too. would love a call from TNA or WWE). Roy knows the game of MMA! He did that fight deliberately with the crucifix and groundandpound! He knew it was an easy way to win. So what?

Roy is trying to win the The Ultimate Fighter. He is not trying for the most exciting figher. The most exciting fighter isn't necessarily the best fighter.

Roy is going to win the whole thing. My bet is definetly on him to win the whole thing. I thought this before he fought Kimbo. He is a veteran, an ex-IFL champion, watched his fights on YouTube, he has the most potential out all of them.

I think the Grand Finale of The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights will be Roy Nelson vs. Wes Sims. Those two will be at the end. Wes is the second best. He has already fought in the UFC. He is a ringer too.

So, yes, other people agree that Roy Nelson fought a smart fight. I have no problems with it. MMA is a SPORT. It is not a streetfight/macho thing for bragging rights. Roy knows this very well. You win by the rules that is the reality all smart/veteran fighter know or learn.

He didn't prove anything, That crucifix position was more of a whale position. And those punches, I could take those. Oh well, Big deal, I just hate the way roy acted, Like he did something impressive. Maybe if he fought him standing up... ... ... Then he could act like that

There is no action against the fearful Warren Anderson, the greatest terrorist who killed 30,000 people within a hour. No action against the politicians CM. PM who made Warren Anderson a great escape. No action against the Tamils slaughter Rajabakse. No action against Kalmadi, Raja etc. No action against the culprits, only three allotments for brave soldiers in 31 storied apartments. But Great action against Arundathi Roy. She is right. Kashmir is never with us or with Pakistan. It is a country occupied by both Indians and Pakistanis. Kashmiris should be given freedom for forming their own country.

You really had to ask? The fat **** sat on Kimbo... after the fight HE ASKED FOR A DOUBLE WHOPPER WITH CHEESE. (yeah, it was an endorsement, but still it goes with him being fat as hell.)
