Nationality , America? Europe? Africe?

I was born is the US and have lived here my whole life. My my father is Italian and the my mother is Irish, but they were both born in US to. How long does your family have to be in a country before you can say that your heritage is American? I mean technically i have Italian and Irish blood in me but i'm American. I still have cousins we talk to in both countries. I think it's confusing

You are whatever you say you are. When I speak to people outside of the US I say I'm American because that's where I'm from. I was born and raised here, as were my parents and grandparents. When I'm speaking with other Americans, they can already tell I'm from here, so I tell them what nationalities my family is made up of.

YOUR ETHNICITY IS european...I don't think anyone can safely say their ethnicity is American unless you're native! I think you're nationality, and your children's nationality is american though!
