Because the Dali Lama is not a Muslim nor does he have anything to do with the rise of Islam.
There isn't anything in it for Obama. Except maybe some publicity shots, but is that worth it to President Obama?

Obama does not want to be confronted by a well respected world renowned figure as to why his administration is so cozy with the country that has killed and imprisoned so many of the his, the Dali Lama's, fellow citizens. Personally I do not understand why we have EVER had any dealings with communist countries. Bush should never have gone to the Olympics in China. We have been sold out for years. If you want to know how bad it has really gotten a constitutional lawyer has read HR3200 and tells us it's not about health care. Check out the website.
